ELVIRA HAS DONE MANY things in her life, but she feels that for every one thing she does do, there's another ten she hasn't. One of the things Elvira hasn't done was purposefully destroy somebody else's property. While she can admit to accidentally destroying something, never has she done it on purpose. She believed it to be wrong, but despite believing it to be wrong, here she was, purposefully destroying the Fairy Tail guildhall. Walking in, she thought it would be easy, throwing a few blasts here and there.
However, now that she was in the guildhall, she couldn't bring herself to move. All she did was watch as Gajeel impaled the guild with numerous iron beams. As she watched Gajeel destroy the guildhall with such ease, she couldn't help but feel guilty. He was doing all the work, yet she just stood there and watched. Gajeel didn't seem to mind that she was just standing there, but she did. She agreed to do this, she agreed to go through with it even though she didn't want to.
She knew she couldn't allow herself to chicken out, nor did she want to. Taking a deep breath, Elvira begins to push back all her guilt, all her second thoughts. She even begins to push back any thoughts on the Fairy Tail members. She couldn't think about them, she had to focus on why she was there. She was there because she trusts Gajeel, she trusts his judgment. She believes in him, so if he believes in this, she would gladly follow him. It was because of that trust, that belief, that loyalty, that she was going to do anything in power to remind him that he too could trust her.
"Energy Magic," she called, holding her hands out, beginning the spell. "Energy Blast."
Elvira watched as a magic circle appeared in front of her hand followed her saying of the spell. Following the appearance of the magic circle, a blast of energy was released. The blast ended up destroying one of the benches. Feeling proud of herself, she was about to let out another blast before she stopped after hearing a familiar chuckle. Turning around, she watched as Gajeel jumped down, a smirk on his face. He couldn't believe what he just witnessed, he couldn't believe he watched her purposely destroy something. He was proud, yet deep down he felt guilty, the guilt he suppressed by laughing. Hearing him laugh, Elvira couldn't understand what was funny. Was it the fact that she actually did it? Or was it the fact that her destruction was so inimical compared to Gajeel?
"I know it's nothing compared to what you've done," Elvira admits, eyeing the many iron beams. "But it's something."
"It is," Gajeel agrees, "though I doubt those fairies would bat an eye over a table. How about you destroy their bar? You know how some people are about their liquor."
"Okay," she nods, turning around only to turn back when she felt Gajeel's hand on her shoulder. "Yeah? Is there something wrong Gajeel?"
"Are you okay?" he asks, removing his hand.
"Yeah, why would be?" she wonders, before seeing a flash of guilt appear on her face. "Look Gajeel, as long as you're okay with it, then so am I."
"But-," he starts to say before stopping. He stopped because he saw the look in her eye, she was determined, determined to help him, and he knew there was nothing he could say or do to change her mind. Clearing his throat, he smirks before saying, "Alright, Ellie, how about we make a game of this? Whoever does the most damage buys the other dinner."
"Deal."
Soon, the pair were off, destroying the Fairy Tail guildhall, but being careful not to bring it down completely to ruins. After the pair were done, it was decided that Gajeel did the most damage, meaning it was up to Elvira to buy dinner. However, when realizing she didn't have any money on her, Gajeel ended up guilt-tripping Tobias to buy them food. After eating, the trio was originally supposed to return to Oak Town to report back to Master Jose, but Gajeel opted to stay in Magnolia. He told Elvira he wanted to see the look on Fairy Tail's face when they saw that their guildhall was destroyed. At first, Elvira wanted to stay with him, but after a few minutes of back and forth, Elvira returned to Oak Town with Tobias.
When Elvira and Tobias returned to Oak Town it was past midnight, and there was nobody at the guild, meaning Elvira would have to wait until morning to report to Jose. Heading back to her apartment, Elvira showed and fell into a very much needed slumber. As morning hit, Elvira was up and ready to report to Jose, however, when she showed up the guild, she quickly learned that he wasn't there. According to those that were present, he and the Element 4 were at the main headquarters right outside of Oak Town. At first, Elvira was going to make the trip out there, but decided against it, wanting to wait for Gajeel. Without either Gajeel or Juvia to talk to, Elvira spent most of her time at the guildhall drawing, a past time of hers. She spent most of the day in comfortable silence, but at night hit once again, the noise began to pick up, especially when Gajeel came back.
"What's with all the noise?" she asks Gajeel. "It's been quiet all day."
"Don't know, don't care," he says, taking a bite of his iron. "Did you report to Jose?"
"He's at the main headquarters," Elvira reveals, "plus I figured if I was going to make the effort to go all the way out there I was better off just waiting for you to come back. So, how did your little observation go? How did Fairy Tail react?"
"As expected, shocked," Gajeel answers. "Though, they didn't seem mad enough to come looking for trouble."
"Maybe it's a sign?"
"A sign?"
"Yeah, a sign," she confirms. "That maybe this whole war thing isn't such a good idea after all. I mean, we destroyed their home and that didn't set them off. What more can we do?"
"Well . . . "
"So, Gajeel, Elvira," one of their guildmates said, coming up to the pair. "I heard you two made a mess out of the Fairy Tail guildhall. Oh, man, I wish I could've seen the looks on their faces. I bet their spirit must be pretty crushed by now. Serves them right! Boo-hoo, somebody broke my playhouse. Oh, and Elvira, I never thought you had it in you. To think, Gajeel's been keeping you all to himself, how about we-,"
"AH!" the man screamed after Gajeel punched him using an iron club.
"Gajeel!" Elvira scolded, as their other guildmates let out chuckles. "Seriously?"
"How many times do I have to tell ya?" Gajeel asks the man, ignoring Elvira as his hand turned back to normal. "I don't like to be bothered while I'm eating. And besides, those Fairy Tail clowns can't challenge us, we're way more powerful than they could ever hope to be."
"The die has been cast," a familiar voice added, causing Elvira to follow the voice to find Master Jose. "I compliment your excellent work, Gajeel, Elvira."
"Thank you, Master Jose," Elvira says, bowing her head a bit.
"You know, I didn't think we were hard enough on them," Gajeel admits. "So I decided to leave 'em a little something extra, a present that's sure to get those Fairy Tailer's panties in a knot."
"Very good, my boy," Master Jose complimented. "Be sure to take extra care that no harm comes to the Heartfilia girl if you please."
"Heh, heh," Gajeel chuckles at Master Jose, before turning towards Elvira who had a look of confusion on her face. "What's the confused look for Ellie?"
"What did you do Gajeel?" she asks.
"Don't worry about it," he tells her.
"Don't worry?"
"It was a gift from me to them," he explains. "You have nothing to do with it, so don't worry. Trust me, okay?"
"Alright," she agreed. "I trust you."
