IF THERE WAS ONE thing that Elvira has learned during the war between Phantom Lord and Fairy Tail, it was to never underestimate an opponent. But, that sentiment not only applied to enemies, but it also applied to allies as well. Elvira knew to always have faith in her allies, and to never doubt their abilities, no matter their appearance.
Over and over again, she has seen that one's appearance does not reflect their magical abilities, her biggest example being the flirtatious Trimen. So when Wendy Marvell entered that mansion, as a representative from the Cait Shelter Guild, Elvira knew better than to judge the girl based on her appearance. Upon seeing Wendy, Elvira, much like the others, was admittedly shocked to see a child standing before her.
Nonetheless, Elvira quickly dismissed her shock and began focusing on the mission, seeing now all members of the alliance were present. Even though Wendy was a child, Elvira knew not to underestimate her, especially when she began picking up on the magical energy the young girl was emitting. Having both Rogue and Gajeel as examples, Elvira knew just how powerful a child could be, no matter their age. She can remember Gajeel being ten times more powerful than most adults when he was Wendy's age. Not to mention Rogue, who radiated power equal to that of most adults.
"Now then, since all guilds are present, we can begin," Jura announces, not letting Wendy's age nor appearance distract him.
"He's not even fazed by this!" Gray exclaims, before looking at Elvira who too wore a not-so-shocked look on her face. "What about you? Aren't you even a bit surprised?"
"Just because she is a child doesn't mean she is any less equal than the rest of us," Elvira explains. "Besides, when Gajeel was her age, I remember him being ten times more powerful than most adults. I see no reason why that shouldn't also apply to Wendy as well."
"But she looks so innocent," Lucy says. "Compared to Gajeel who I'm sure always looked like the type to beat people up."
"Gajeel has always looked a bit rough around the edges, and quite frankly is behavior does often match his appearance," Elvira admits. "Still, we shouldn't be so quick to judge Wendy, especially seeing we haven't even seen her fight."
"Still, what in the world was Cait Shelter thinking sending a little girl on this kind of mission?" Sherry wonders as Wendy shakes nervously listening to all of what the group had to say about her. "They must really be hurting for members if they sent her here on her own."
"She isn't alone!" a different voice exclaims shifting everyone's attention to the entrance where another made themselves known. "You shouldn't jump to conclusions, Gaudy Trollop."
Elvira, alongside many of the others, let out a gasp when they took note of who the voice belonged to. Before them, besides Wendy, was not just any normal mage, but a cat, similar looking to Happy. However, instead of being blue and male, this cat was female and white, wearing a dress with a bow on her tail.
If Elvira was being honest, she was a lot more surprised to see the cat than she was to see Wendy. Seeing Happy for the first time was a shock on its own, but to see yet another cat similar to Happy was quite a surprise. This left Elvira wondering just how many more existed out in the world.
"Oh Carla, you followed me here?" Wendy states just as surprised to see the cat as everyone else.
"Of course I did," Carla replies. "You're far too young to be traveling unaccompanied, child."
