Madison's POV
"Up next is Laff and James M!"
I picked up my handkerchief and began to cough. "Sorry, Mr. Washington, I don't think I would do very good, so Laff can move on."
"James! What are you doing? You will go up there and battle the baguette." Tommy whispered from behind me.
Sometimes, he made me feel like I'm not in control of myself.
"Um... actually, I'll battle him," I said
I wanted to be free of him, but if he wasn't my friend, no one would want to be my friend. They would think of me as just the mean kid's friend.
"James M, you're up first"
But I wasn't his friend. Or, I was. No. I- I don't know.
"James M, you have 30 seconds until you have to start talking"
I was more of his... what's the word?
"Are you okay, James M?"
"Yeah," I replied.
I was his puppet.
"Okay, then 15 seconds,"
But I was more than that.
"10 seconds"
Wasn't I?
"5 seconds,"
"Oh, yeah, I um... my stances are-"
Tommy glared at me.
"I have Tommy's stances."
"BORING!" James R. said, voting for Laff. I glanced around the room. Everyone was voting for Laff except Tommy.
"Alright, Laff moves on. Charlie, would you like a place in the tourname-"
"No."
"Okay then, this is what the tournament looks like now," he said, showing us a picture of a bracket.
"Time for recess now! Go outside now!"
Like I said:
Tommy passed me a note saying, and I quote, 'Whaaaat was that? You couldn't have at LEAST said my views again? Why did you just say 'I have Tommy's stances'? That's the worst thing you could have said.'
A puppet.
Word Count: 307. Sorry it was so short. I wanted a chapter about this.
