"HAPPY BIRTHDAY DADDY!"
Harry rubbed his eyes and rolled over as his five year old daughter launched herself into his stomach. He grunted as he caught her and let out a deep chuckle. He sat up against the headboard and put on his glasses.
"Thanks Lil." Harry smiled, kissing the top of her head.
Seconds later, Harry's two sons, nine year old James and seven year old Albus, stumbled into the room, yawning. James and Albus were followed by their mother, Ginny Potter.
"Tired, boys?" Harry smirked.
Albus nodded and climbed onto the bed, laying down between Harry's legs and closing his eyes.
"Did we have to get up so early?" James groaned.
Harry laughed again.
"Yes James, it's your Dad's birthday. We've got a busy day of celebrating ahead of us." Ginny chuckled, shaking her head.
"Happy birthday, Dad." Albus mumbled, his face half buried in the blankets.
"Thanks, Al." Harry ruffled his sons messy black hair.
James sat on the bed beside Lily and wished Harry a happy birthday. Ginny walked around to his side of the bed and leant down, kissing him on the forehead.
"Happy Birthday." Ginny mumbled softly, smiling at him.
"Thanks, love." Harry smiled up at her and captured her lips in a kiss, causing James to groan in disgust.
Harry and Ginny laughed at their son, Ginny rolling her eyes. Harry simply took a moment to take in the scene in front of him. His eyes drifted over his three children. First they landed on James. His first born child, his first son. The one who made him a father. Despite James' mischievous behaviour and devotion to pranking, Harry was immensely proud of his son. James may be a child who messed around and got into trouble alot, but he was a passionate, intelligent boy.
Next, Harry looked down at Albus. His second son, the middle child. Harry could already tell Albus would accomplish great things. Much like his brother, Albus was a passionate and intelligent boy. Once his mind was set on something, Albus gave it his all. Albus wasn't one for mischief like James was, but Albus seemed to follow in his father's footsteps of attracting trouble.
His eyes drifted to Lily, who had tucked herself neatly into Harry's side. Harry remembered the day Lily was born like it was yesterday. He remembered the overwhelming fear as the words 'it's a girl' were announced. From the moment Lily was laid in his arms, Harry knew this little girl would have him wrapped around her little finger.
Both James and Albus resembled Harry in almost every way. James of course, also resembled his name sakes. Albus was pretty much a carbon copy of Harry, right down to the unruly black hair. Lily was a miniature version of her mother and Harry loved it. Her deep red hair flowed down her back and her brown eyes were the mirror image of Ginny's. Lily however, although small and dainty, was a force to be reckoned with. A mixture of Ginny's fury and Harry's stubbornness flowed through Lily's veins.
Finally there was Ginny. Harry had never expected to love someone so intensely. At first, his overwhelming desire for Ginny had frightened him. He'd never felt any kind of emotion so fiercely. Over time Harry had grown so accustomed to his feelings for Ginny, that he couldn't bare to think of a life without her. He didnt think his life could get any better and now, Harry actually enjoyed his birthdays.
