Harry sat in the Gryffindor common room alone. He had his divination homework in front of him, but his mind couldn't focus. It had been two days since he'd seen Cho kissing another guy. But oddly enough, that wasn't what was bothering him. It wasn't Cho's face that kept popping into his mind at the most inconvenient times, it was Ginny's.

The look on her face after Harry had kissed her was one he didn't think he'd ever forget. The more he thought about it, the more he felt guilty. He'd taken advantage of Ginny. Harry felt like he needed to make it up to Ginny, he just didn't know how.

As fate would have it, Ginny entered the common room, carrying a stack of books in one arm and a broomstick in the other. Harry decided it was now or never. He stood up, abandoning his homework and walked over to her.

"Hey." Harry said lamely. "Can I talk to you for a second?"

"Sure." Ginny nodded. She followed him over to the table he was sat at and put her books on the table.

"I wanted to say I'm sorry about the other day." Harry said as they both sat down.

"Harry, it's fine. You wanted to get back at Cho, I get it." Ginny said quickly.

"No its not fine. I shouldn't have done that. I used you and I feel terrible. You didn't deserve that." Harry shook his head.

"Well, yeah you did. But it's okay, really." Ginny said with a small smile. "If it wasn't for the circumstances I'd have even said it was nice."

Harry looked up at her in surprise. "Really?"

Ginny looked away to hide the blush slowly forming on her cheeks, but Harry had seen it. "Well, you're not the worst kisser." She shrugged.

This time it was Harry's turn to blush and look down at the table.

"But, I really am sorry. I hope it doesn't put you off being my friend anymore." Harry said quietly. He thought for a moment he'd seen her face fall into something of disappointment, but maybe he imagined it, because no sooner had he thought it, a smile appeared instead.

"Of course not, we're still friends." Ginny smiled.

"Good." Harry nodded. For some reason the idea of not having Ginny as a friend anymore gave Harry a feeling he couldn't quite name, but knew he didn't like.

"So, what's going on here then?" Ginny asked, looking around at the parchment scattered across the table.

"Divination." Harry said with a face that resembled someone chewing on a lemon.

"Ah, I see." Ginny nodded in understanding.

"What have you got there?" Harry nodded at her pile of books.

"Potions." Ginny's face matched his own. Both subjects were torturous in Harry's opinion. He was either facing his impending death, Professor Trelawney always predicting a new way in which Harry would meet his grisly end. Or he was wishing for death while Snape continued to make his life a complete misery.

An awkward silence fell over the two of them and Harry tried to think of something else to say. The urge to keep talking to her was something he'd never felt before, but now he felt like he needed to keep the conversation going. Ron and Hermione entered the common room, bickering about something Harry imagined was completely petty.  Ginny looked like she was about to get up and leave and Harry blurted out the first thing that came to the front of his mind.

"Would you like some help?" Harry said quickly.

"With my potions homework?" Ginny asked, raising a brow at him.
