"How did you even manage to convince me to take up spanish, i literaly don't get the right accent." Casy blurted all of a sudden facing the now quiet karen.
"I have my ways, sister. Anyway i heard the spanish teacher is cute. I wanted you to get to know him." She replied matter of factly, her face no longer playful as she gave her a knowing glare. Karen knows more than she is letting on, casy silently thought to herself. She had to keep her out of her business.
"I get it karen, you know, but its non of your business. Please keep out of it." She retorted giving karen a deadly glare. She was choking her with her scrutiny.
"You know father would not have approved of what you are trying to be!." Karen retaliated with concern plastered all over her face. Casy was one who truly appreciated her privacy and when intruded she would get defensive, rude even. And karen knew all that but she was her sister, immediately she made a resolve.
Her lane of thought was disrupted by the slow squealing of the door. He is a god, she thought as raw excitement filled her. Zeus as a matter of fact. Thank God casy won't be interested, she silently made a litany or was it thanksgiving.
"Hola nìnas.?" He greeted them in a perfect spanish accent. But karen heard non of that, her eyes were busy scrutinizing her idol.
"Hola.!" They all answered in unison, the sudden loud replies pulled her out of her trance. Her blood was already boiling, hot.
With unbelievable coolness he walked around the room looking at each student, absorbing in their faces and with a quick resolve he went back to his table.
Look, all their faces are flushed, Roxy was right, he is a hunk, simone thought to herself. Casy was unmoved contrary to her sister who was already squirming on her seat, with a foolish smile on her lips.
" I am Mr. Sergio, i will be taking over from miss Lucia. I would like to see what you understood but before all that i would like us to get to know each other better." He said already noticing the effect he had on them. His voice still held the spanish lilt.
"Who would like to start?." His face lit up already curious as he held up his head.
The movement of her hand was involuntary, she didn't understand how it got up.
"Yes, behind there, please start with your name." He said as his finger pointed at her direction.
She stood up nervously, as she looked at her sister helplessly, how foolish of her to raise her hand. Her hands were already shaking vigourously.
"My name is umhhhh....... i am karen." She answered but it came out as a mere mutter.
"Holla karen, anything else to add?." He asked already curious as he eyed karen and casy at intervals. Casy was more relaxed at his presence.
"Yes, are you married?." She blurted out suddenly. How audacious the other students thought as they giggled and talked in whispers. He shifted on his seat calmly quite shocked by her question, it was unexpected. Casy tagged at her skirts hem, motioning her to sit down. She had embarrassed herself big time.
Sergio had always known that his corporeal presence affected other people in such a way, but non had the courage to ever ask him such a question. He eyed her for sometime and decided to answer her.
"No karen, i am not married." He gave her a slight smile as he answered her, not wanting to embarass her the more. Still the other students continued to gossip in hushed voices. On the far corner Roxy looked her with sheer amazement, her courage was one to be reckoned with.
Their gazes were still locked and casy noticed. What a moral police, she sarcastically thought to herself. With a determined resolve she stood up wanting to break the gaze. Clearing up her voice she earned their attention. She was so good at that.
"Holla, mr segio, i am cassandra, Karen's twin." She announced imitating his spanish lilt, it was almost funny. But no one laughed, her very presence was quite intimidating. Quick on his words he answered back, professionally, no longer looking at karen.
"Holla cassandra, may i call you casy." He asked pretending she didn't intimidate him. She hated him, actually anyone who looked at her sister longingly.
"No, you can't call me that, only my friends call me that." She answered back already shouting. He was getting on her nerves and everyone noted that. Still standing she moved her gaze from sergio to her sister, shock plastered all over her already flushed face.
Not wanting to make enemies on his first day, he decided to cool down the tension already thick in the air.
"Okay, karen and cassandra, nice meeting both if you, you may seat." His coolness was enviable. He stole another quick glance at both girls and he noted much difference, skills earned in the army always came in handy.
"I think the rest of you can introduce yourself."he stated in his deep voice still tainted with the spanish lilt, but it came out more of a whisper.
As they sat down the sister's never broke their gazes. Each wanting the other to clear the air. She wanted to shout at her but she knew that casy was unwavering. What she did was out of love but still foolish. Mastering up courage she decided to confront her.
"Casy, what was that.?" Karen asked as she held her hands into a fist, holding in the agitation she felt. Her full lips formed in to a thin line as she waited on a reply.
"Nothing, karen, i was just introducing myself." She answered back in a hushed voice making sure the new teacher wouldn't hear them.
"I am tired of your fake attitudes, pretending to be innocent. It's so annoying!." The last sentence coming out as a shout for all to hear. In a moment all eyes were on them, watching trying to determine what was making them fight. Still casy's calm demeanor sent no signals but karen was furious.
"
Tone it down, you are attracting alot of attention, we will talk later." She stated as she shifted her gaze back to sergio. He was making them fight and they barely knew him. For a brief moment their eyes locked, and her cold glare sent shivers down his spine. Even guns didn't scare him that much, he silently admitted to himself.
After all students had introduced themselves he stood up wanting to break the monotony but he decided against it. They would start their lessons together on the next session.
Clearing his throat he earned their attention.
"It was nice knowing all of you by your names, thank you also for your warm welcome. I really felt appreciated." His last statement came out sarcastically as he looked at the expressionless casy. Noting that they all laughed as they eyed her but karen was still fuming.
"As i went through the register i noted some of you are new, actually its the twins." He added as he giggled briefly it was as almost as it never happened. In return casy rolled her eyes at him, nobody messes with my sister she thought calmly.
"I just hope we will get along with everyone." And in unison they agreed, they would definately get along.
At his last statement he took his belongings and left never stealing a glance back and she was disappointed.

"Stop pretending that you can't see me." Karen announced angrily already having enough of her sister's patronizing.
"Oh but i can't see you." Casy replied as she shifted on her seat preparing to leave. She was in no mood for another fight. But where did she expect karen to take out all her fury. She caused it and she had to pay the price.
Tears were already threatening on the base of her eyes.
"Cassandra, i am talking to you!, what was all that for." She asked already hysterical. One more thing she addressed her by her full name, things weren't good at all.
"Oh karen, that all was you embarrassing yourself. Who even asks a man if he is married." She retaliated already tired of her tears. She always used them to manipulate her but not again. She had to protect her sister against her own self. The cost didn't matter anymore.
"Don't you love me anymore?." She suddenly asked no longer crying. Her face was the very example of seriousness.
"How paranoid, ofcourse i do karen." Casy was already sensing the danger ahead. One week of silence was a farmiliar situation.
"But i don't, anymore, you irk me cassandra." Swiftly she packed up her books and left leaving a shocked casy. It would be of no use following her. It would only agitate her further. She watched her leave as she banged the door, angry at her for a man she barely knew. Unbelievable.
