As the door upstairs shut. The room below was silent.
Kaminari turned his head slowly to the boy who had just woken up the entire household.
Izukimaru and Akatsu stared at their big brother. Natsuo was looking at him as well, trying to find an explanation for his words.
Inko and Hisashi were just star struck, but they also didn't dare utter a word.
The silence became unbearable and eventually someone spoke.
"Haruhi.." Natsuo said quietly as he stood. His face was sad and betrayed. "Why would you say that to Mr.Midoriya? Did you suddenly think that it was just okay to-"
"He deserved it." Haruhi spoke bitterly and started to walk away.
"Haruhi! Wait!" Denki yelled as he started to follow behind him.
The younger blonde stopped at the front door. Then turned around and glared at his uncle.
"Just stop okay."
Two blondes sat on a bench on the other side of town. One, cradled his knees inward as silent tears streamed down his face.
The other sat silently as he tried to comfort him.
"Haruhi, you're mom loves you a whole lot. You know that right?" Haruhi nodded.
"And yet, I can't seem to tell him I love him the same way. I seriously don't understand why it's like this! I don't understand why he doesn't tell us how he feels!" He yelled.
The second blonde sighed and wrapped an arm around the boy.
"When you weren't even born yet, you have no idea how elated everyone was. Izuku had been trying for a baby for almost a year. But, they weren't as lucky as they'd hoped. He was almost as depressed as he is now but, when you came along. He never stopped talking about how much he'd love you."
Haruhi smiled, and nodded once more. "I know, he told me about my near siblings in a letter last night. And he told me about how much he loved me.." He paused.
"But, one thing I'll never understand is why you did that to him."
Katsuki frowned. "Not all good things may stay the same huh.." He said silently.
"I.." The ash blonde paused. "I was irresponsible. My father, whom I was close with, died a few weeks after you were born. But, that day, when he did pass, I wasn't feeling well. So I decided to.."
Katsuki slowly stood up and looked at the small pond in front of them. "I went to a bar. The smell of omegas there were intoxicating.. so I slept with one. I ignored all of the calls and texts I got. And when I finally got home, and found out. I was so sorry, I hated myself. I promised I'd never do it again but, I did it again, and again, and again."
Directing his attention back to his son he sighed, "And when I was finally able to stop, I became jealous, I hated when he'd hang out with Kirishima or Denki. But I couldn't do anything, so I took my rage out in another way physically. And I never stopped blaming myself. I loved your mother but, I won't lie when I say him leaving me," He smiled. "Was much better for you and him."
Haruhi nodded. "I remember that day vividly."
"But you don't remember what I did to you. And that's for the better. But let me tell you now. I am so happy you've allowed me to see you. I'm glad I got to tell you why. To explain even if it will never make you forgive me. I thank you for coming to me."
Katsuki pulled his son into a hug.
"You don't have to forgive me. Ever. But forgive your mom. Even if I was the one who caused it, hitting him like that.. it won't do him any good. Don't be me. I didn't help any of you."
