"you look positively green, y/l. what's the matter with you?"
snape asked as you heaved over the cauldron,
emptying your stomach to answer his question.
"disgusting,"
he mumbled.
"go to the hospital wing! and don't come back!"
you nodded and ran out of the room,
popping the other colored candy in your mouth.
you turned the corner to find fred,
beaming at you with excitement.
"did it work? did the puking pastilles work?"
"they did! you're a genius, weasley!"
you exclaimed and wrapped your arms around him.
he laughed and swung you around playfully,
then setting you back on your feet.
"so let's go."
you nodded and began to follow fred to the one eyed witch passageway into hogsmeade.
"george is already there. he'll be waiting for us."
"sounds good,"
you nodded.
"ladies first,"
he grinned as you stepped into the dark and tight passageway.
you walked with your wand out in front of you to illuminate your way through.
you could feel fred's chest pressed against your back while you walked through slowly.
your cheeks began to tingle with excitement.
"are we almost there?"
"keep walking a little bit further."
you turned on your feet to face him.
you were only inches away from his face,
closer than you two had ever been.
"are you guys playing a prank on me or something?"
you asked.fred's eyes darted to your lips as he felt your words ghost his own lips.
"no, this is the way that leads into honeydukes,"
he smiled,
realizing that even in the darkest of places your eyes still shined.
"now keep walking."
you swallowed and nodded your head.
turning around to continue to the sweets shop.
the urge to kiss fred was becoming more prominent in your mind,
but you knew better."that there's the trap door."
you lifted it up to reveal the stocking room of the store.
"huh. guess you were right after all."
"i'm never wrong, y/n. when will you learn?"
you laughed and climbed up the trapdoor,
fred soon following behind.
you met up with george and began to walk towards the three broomsticks.
"so they work?"
"oh they worked. it was genius! got me out of my last detention before holiday."
"you're still going home, huh?"
fred asked,
taking a seat next to his brother.
"i have to."
"still. it's gonna be weird without our triplet."
george smiled.
"can't be too weird, can it? you've gone this long without me."
"yeah, i don't know how we did it,"
fred shrugged.
you placed the mug to your lips and looked at him over the glass.
"i'll be back before you know it."
"that you will,"
their voices chorused together.
"meaning?"
"would you like to go see the shrieking shack? it's even cooler when it's buried in snow."
you nodded hesitantly,
knowing they were planning something.
***
sunday night came,
and you would be returning home in a few hours for christmas holiday.
it was a bittersweet feeling.
you were so excited to see your family,
but a bit sad to be leaving the twins and the rest of your friends so soon.
this year had been amazing.the christmas tune played throughout the common room,
only a few stragglers left.
"well aren't they just adorable?"
you giggled,
pointing your attention to george and angelina who were close together.
"they are,"
fred smiled,
not taking his eyes off of you.
the way your eyes glistened in the firelight made him weak in the knees,
his favorite thing about you were your eyes.
the way they told every secret,
every emotion,
without even having to speak.
"excited for tomorrow?"
you asked.
"yeah, definitely. christmas is always the best time of year."
"it is."hours had now passed,
and fred's voice was going hoarse from all the talking you two were doing.
both of you laid on the common room floor,
staring at the ceiling and talking about nothing but everything all at the same time.
it was simple with fred.
you liked that.
the sun was beginning to rise over the horizon,
which caused you to turn on your body and face fred.
"the suns coming up."
"right on time,"
he smiled.
"you have a really nice smile,"
you admitted through the sleep in your voice.
he sat up and leveled with you,
"thank you. you do too,"
you nodded,
the silence overcoming you both.
fred then placed a hand on your cheek,
holding it gently while the pad of his thumb caressed you.
"i don't want you to leave me,"
he admitted through a breath.
you drew in closer to him and leaned the weight of your head into his head.
"i don't want to leave you either,"
you whispered,
his lips brushing yours.
he then pulled you in and locked your lips onto his,
the sensuality floating through his body.you felt the air get caught in your lungs as you continued to move your lips against fred's.
it was sweet,
the months of pent up passion finally being released.
he carefully sunk his teeth in your bottom lip whilst he pulled back,
grinning from ear to ear.
you were breathing hard but so was he,
the longing you felt deep within you was pouring.
this is what you had been waiting for,
and it was so worth it.fred's lips went numb,
his heart slamming against his ribcage as your eyes laid interlocked with his.
"i'm gonna miss you,"
you spoke softly,
your cheeks burning.
"we'll be right back together before you know it."
***
you stepped foot in the door and inhaled the scent of home,
sighing gratefully.
although a twinge of sadness poked at your heart.
you were already missing fred.
"miss l/n!"
cindy barnes, the nurse from st mungos, smiled and wrapped you in her arms.
she smells like hand sanitizer,
you noticed as you hugged her back.
"hi!"
"oh your mum missed you so much! she'll be glad to see you!"
"how is she?"
"she's..good. she still talks about your father sometimes."
"yeah..."
"but she's eating a lot more now! taking her medicine and all that good stuff."
she explained with a small smile to her lips.
"told her about those boys you met. she adores them already."
"that makes two of us,"
you laughed and felt your stomach flutter as you thought about the kiss you shared with fred.
again.
"i'll go put your luggage up."
"thank you,"
you walked down the hall to the living room where your mother sat,
watching the tv."hey mum."
"oh my love! how your father and i have missed you!"
you swallowed hard as she hugged you tightly,
"i know. i've missed you and dad too."
