you and the weasley family gathered around each other,
the happiness and joy settling deep within your gut.
you hadn't had a christmas like this in years.
hearing the laughter of each family member,
the sounds of clattering dishes,
the love you felt.
it was so overwhelming and beautiful you couldn't help but let the warm tears prick your eyes.

"feeling alright?"
fred asked at your side,
wrapping his arm around you to pull you into his chest.
"oh yeah. more than alright."
"thank you for coming to spend holiday with us."
you looked up at him and nodded,
pressing a light kiss to his cheek.
"thank you for coming to get me."
"well come on! let's open presents!"
mrs weasley announced.
everyone gathered by the tree,
fred's arm still being slung around your shoulder.
"oh! y/n, dear! you shouldn't have!"
mrs weasley exclaimed as she grabbed her own present,
placing it against her chest where her heart would be.
"of course i did!"
you smiled.

as the sounds of ripping wrapping paper erupted throughout the room,
your heart began to swell with each new gift.
"oh it's so lovely!"
you gasped,
holding up the sweater mrs weasley knitted with your initial on it.
"thank you!"
"of course, dear."
everyone exchanged hugs and thanks you,
then fred got to his gift.
"oh wow..."
he chuckled,
examining the magpie.
"i-i'm not quite sure why i bought that. but it broke when we fell that one day. and...i don't know it's rather cool, isn't it? the cracks in it?"
you buried your head in your hands and laughed,
"i don't know!"
"no... y/n, i love it. how'd you know my patronus is a magpie?"
you stood still in shock for a moment,
laughing rather loudly.
"are you serious?"
"yes! how did you know?"
"i didn't..."
he wrapped you in his arms and squeezed you tight,
making you giggle.
"okay okay! i get it!"
he pulled back and placed a playful kiss on your forehead.
he then began to run his fingers over the cracked parts of the glass,
almost like you had done.

"here,"
fred spoke while handing you a wrapped present.
you unwrapped it quickly and tilted your head,
realizing it was a journal.
"did-did you mean to give me your diary, weaslebee?"
"haha,"
he mocked and playfully pushed your head,
"open it."
you did as he instructed and flipped it to the first page,
"to my y/n, our triplet,
in this journal you'll find everyday we spent together written in words.
from our very first day,
to the last one this book would hold.
here's to many more days together that i'll eventually write and tell the world about.
-f.w (the best twin.)"

you swallowed hard and flipped through the pages full of his handwriting,
seeing some doodles in the pages along the way,
and even some polaroid pictures you three had taken.
you looked up at him to see him peering over your shoulder into the notebook,
a small smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
you instantly wrapped your arms around his neck and pulled him in,
feeling the love slam against your ribcage in immense amounts.
"thank you for everything, fred."
he pulled you back to stare into those eyes he had grown to love so much,
and wiped away the loose tear that rolled down your cheek.
"anything for you."

the rest of the day was spent singing, eating, and laughing with the family you had grown so close to.
you loved being here,
and a part of you never wanted to leave.
"come here,"
fred signaled as the chatter died down,
the music being the only noise to travel throughout the rooms.
"what?"
you asked as you stood in front of him.
"may i have this dance?"
he bowed.
you giggled and shook your head,
backing up.
"i don't dance!"
"come on!"
he pleaded and pulled on your hand,
bringing you closer to him.
you sighed and placed a hand on his shoulder,
and intertwined your fingers with his.
you two began to spin around the room and move to the beat,
feeling like there wasn't a care in the world.
it was everything you had ever wished for.
"see! you're doing great,"
fred nodded as he twirled you around.
you giggled,
"you're making me feel like a princess in a fairytale, freddie."
"good. you certainly look like one,"
he winked and placed his hand in the small of your back,
the nerves shooting throughout your body.
"so quick with the flattery."
"only telling you what i know, darling."

the night, unfortunately, had come to and end.
you laid in the guest bed of yours and hummed a tune of the song you just recently danced to.
tonight had been magical.
you sat up and grabbed the journal,
flipping through it and giggling with each new page.
the details fred was able to pick up on during these moments you spent together was amazing to you.
"october 5th.
you, george, and i walked the corridors well after hours tonight. today had been the worst day until then. hearing your accidental loud laughter echo throughout the halls had certainly brightened my day. and feeling your hand grab mine when we were running away from filch made me nervous. and that's what i like about you, y/n. you make me feel all these things i didn't even know one could feel! but as we were hiding behind the corner and holding our laughter in, i looked at you and felt my heart flutter like it had never done before. and after all this time of trying to avoid it and convince myself otherwise. but y/n, after tonight i can't hide it much longer.
i really am in love with you."

your heart quickened as the page came to an end.
fred's in love with me.
it echoed in your head.
you quickly jumped to your feet and made your way to where fred's bedroom would be.
you stared at the door in front of you,
breathing hard and raggedly.
this had been something you waited on for months now!
but what were you going to say once this door opened?
you turned the knob slowly and opened it up,
watching as fred sat on the bed and threw a ball into the air.
his eyes instantly fell on you and turned his lips into a smile,
"so you read about october fifth then?
