Just getting out of high school is nice. No more homework, no more drama, no more stupid idiots bothering me. It's great just to sit on the couch and be the lazy butt I am.
"Hey Cori, can get your bedroom clean? The last time I saw it, it was a wreck! Can you clean it up a bit since you're sitting doing nothing?" My dad said. He can be a bit forceful somedays. As long as I remember, he was forceful all my life. A reason is one, that he was in the military before I was born. He lost a little bit of hearing while he was in and now I have to repeat thing multiple times, which I'm not fond of.
"Okay." I respond getting up. "Thanks!" He says going on the tv to watch the news.
I head up to my room to clean my room. Well, it doesn't turn that way. I normally hit the bed and scroll through Instagram, Twitter, and Tumblr. Today was different. I turned on my music on Spotify and the first song was This Is My Year by Rawn Erikson II. He's not a huge singer. I hear of this song from The Shaytards. Shay said his friend, Rawn, was making a motivational song. I really needed a motivating song anyways.
I get really pumped and started straightening my bed sheets. A few more songs play and I finished cleaning up my room. "Hey honey! I got a surprise for you!" I hear my mom shout from the kitchen. I run down the stairs and I'm in the kitchen.
"What is it?" I say with a pant. "Well..." I see her holding something behind her back. "Remember when you said that you need an iTunes gift card?" "You got me one!?" She hands me an envelope. I open it right up. "Oh my gosh! You got me a 50 dollar card!? You shouldn't have done this! You should've just gotten my the 15 dollar one and I'd be happy!" My mom really does spoils me. I like it but I don't like it because it makes feel greedy. It's really a love hate relationship.
"You did say one time you needed new songs for those edits you make on Instagram. Use it wisely! I'm know how you are with spending!" My mom chuckles and so I chuckle with her. "Well... thanks!" I say as I give her a squeeze and head upstairs getting the card redeemed. My mom does know me very well. I spend too much money and its a terrible habit to have. I do also have a fanpage. I'm so close to 1k followers! It's a Rhett&Link fanpage since I'm obsessed with them. I love them both equally but there is something with Link that I like just the littlest bit.
I launch myself on my bed and reach for my iPad that's on my desk. I get to my notes icon because I have a list of songs I needed to have and use for edits.
I've redeemed the card and I go through all of the songs I've listed. I've gotten onto iTunes and I have gotten a few songs. I'm halfway through and I hear my mom shout my name again. This bothers me a bit since I was just downstairs with her.
I head out of my room to down the staircase. "Yes mother." "Your dad wanted you. He's in his bedroom." She say not looking up for mincing some veggies for a salad. "Okay." I say with exasperation, head to their bedroom.
I make to the room and a quickly knocked the door. "Hey dad, you wanted me?" I say through the door. "Yea, come in." I come in. He holds out another envelope that apparently for me. I was scared at first because I thought it was my report card from school. I carefully open it to see three papers. I pull them out. "Are these tickets??" I say questioning in confusion. "Yes they are." He says no exact emotions. "Where are we going?!?"
