I woke up the next day feeling much better then the day before.
I decided I would tell the professors that I had a little stomach bug and that I would sit at the Ravenclaw table with Luna to avoid Harry and Cedric.
I got up and put on my robes carefully. I was trying to be as late as possible to breakfast so I could avoid Harry and Cedric even more.
I walked out and saw Harry sitting by the fire.
Ugh
I tried to scurry past him but I was too late. Harry had already grabbed my wrist and was pulling me back.
"You all have got to stop doing that!" I said as I pulled my wrist out of his grip.
I tried to escape again when I heard Harry behind me.
"Y/N, wait! Please!" He said. I couldn't help but turn around.
I have to admit, I've always had a soft spot for Harry.
Harry stepped a bit closer to me.
"Look I'm sorry about what I said yesterday, I- I don't know what got into me." He said shamefully.
What was the point in staying mad at my bestfriend?
I turned around and hugged Harry tight. He sighed with relief and hugged me back.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My first class after breakfast was potions with Slytherin.
To my horror, Proffessor Snape had invited Cedric to assist us in making our potion that day. A potion he apparently is very skilled at.
Snape cleared his throught to get our attention.
"Today we will be learning how to make Amortentia. Does anyone here know what that is?"
Hermione's hand shot up. Snape sighed and nodded to her.
"Amortentia is one of the strongest love potions in the world; it is said to smell different to each person, depending on what attracts them."
"Very good Miss Granger. 10 points to Gryffindor." Snape said before he introduced Cedric and explansd part if the instructions to us.
Cedric walked around the tables, helping students and shooting sorry glances at me whenever he could.
He finally made his way over to my table, displeased to see that I was doing just fine in my potion making.
He still stayed though, and tried to talk to me. I kept on looking up to see Harry shooting daggers at Cedric.
What was his issue?
"Y/N, look- I'm really sorry if I hurt your feelings yesterday, I saw that you had been crying and I feel really bad will you please-"
I looked up at Cedric with a forced forgiving face.
He's got it all wrong..
"Cedric-- I was not crying over you!" I lied- kind of. "Look- I totally get that you and Cho are friends! I honestly just didn't wanna bother you." I said in a polite tone.
Cedric sighed with relief before he realized. He stood up a little straighter and stopped leaning on the table when he did.
I sighed, knowing Cedric, knowing what was coming.
"Well why were you crying then!?" He exclaimed as he leaned in a little closer to me.
"Just- Homesick that's all." I lied through gritted teeth.
Unfortunately, he saw right through me.
"You and I both know that's a lie." Cedric said, grasping the table. He was starting to get a little worked up.
I have to think of something unless I want Harry either dead or in the Hospital wing for a month!
I involuntarily looked over at Harry when thinking of him. Cedric looked behind him and made straight eye contact with Harry.
He turned back around fiercely. "That twat didn't make you cry did he?!" Cedric said, making sure to anunciate each and every word.
"No I-" I started but was cut off by Snape.
"Miss L/N, since you seem to be done with your potion, please do tell us what you smell." He said, with a small sinister grin.
Luckily, my potion was done. I had completely forgotten about it and had forgotten to smell. I was overwhelmed by the abundance of scents that met my nose. The first thing I could make out was..
"Leaves- wood." I said as I continued to process the scent. "Uh- mint? Peppermint I believe." Then a far too familiar scent met my nose.
"Cinnamon. And-" I stuttered when I tried to make out the next thing I was smelling. "And, well and men's cologne." I said and stopped trying to decipher what I was smelling.
Naturally, quiet chatter fell upon the room as people tried to think of who I could possibly be smelling.
Then I heard Draco snicker in the backround. Oh no- that men's colonge- it smelled just like Draco.
No no no! What am I thinking? There has got to be another way- there has big to be another person who smells like that!
The more I though the worse of an idea it became.
Malfoy? Seriously Y/N, Draco Malfoy?
I then looked up to see Cedric grinning so wide I'm suprised it wasn't spreading off of his face- he knew.
I pretended I didn't notice and moved on. The rest if the day seemed to fly by.
