CHAPTER SEVEN :
"Every morning when I wake up, I remind myself that it's not the end of the world. Breathe, you have so much to smile about." I wrote on a piece of paper.
This is one of my hobbies, write quotes that I'm feeling at the moment. It's 7 am in the morning, pretty much relevant to use that quote.
Once I'm done doodling some plants, smiley faces, and a sun on the paper -also writing the date and time on the top right corner- I grabbed a glue and stick the paper to the wall of my bedroom. Then, I quickly went down the stairs, and ate breakfast, savouring the taste of the pancakes my mom made, she made the best pancakes hands down.
"Alec, can you do me a favor?" I asked.
"What?" He said.
"Since you're friends with Jake, ask him to go out of the house and hang out with you and a bunch of friends after school? I need to do something at his house."
"And what exactly are you doing?" He asked.
"Prank," I shrugged.
"Yeah, sure, we hang out alot after school anyways," He finally replied.
"Yes, thank you, I love you!" I squealed.
"You only say that when I do you a favor."
"Exactly."
Buy tin foil after school, I mentally take a note.
I saw Jake's car in front of my house, been riding his car to school for a few days now. I grabbed my bag, wear my nikes, and head off to the door to his car.
Jake opened the car door for me, "I can open it myself for goodness sake," I informed him.
"You're welcome," He rolled his eyes.
I turned on the radio as usual. Paint You Wings by All Time Low was playing.
"Hey, you're wearing an All Time Low shirt and their song is playing," Jake pointed to my shirt.
"Great observation, all you have to do now is get yourself a Sherlock Holmes's coat and a magnifying glass and you're good to go," I said.
I looked back at the car window and catched a glimpse of this pizza place where me, my dad, and grandma used to go when I was a kid. Memories flashed in my mind, I felt broke inside for a minute there. I wished I could go back to my childhood, live as free and happy as I can and not giving a care about anything.
"Aren't you going down?" Jake said, interrupting my thoughts.
"Oh yeah," I finally realized we already arrived.
"Idiot," Jake whispered to himself.
"You know I got sharp ears? I can listen to you clearly," I rasied an eyebrow.
"You really are an idiot, though," He replied.
"And what would you be? The dumbest person known to man?" I said turning my head to him, I didn't look where I was going and tripped over the stairs.
Jake was laughing. "Told you you're an idiot."
"I fell and you're not helping?"
"Why should I?"
"Oh god, because my feet is hurting you asshole!"
He sighed. "Fine," He pulled out his right hand, I grabbed it, and push myself up. I put my arm around his shoulder for support. We both walked up the stairs, my left foot limping a little.
"You're such a clumsy ass," Jake spoke up, "We should get you to the nurse."
"Nope, I don't have to go the nurse, it's not serious." I refused.
"Your left foot is limping, might not be serious, but a check-up wouldn't hurt."
Wait, stop, hold the brakes. Jake cared for me?
"Okay."
We head to the nurse's office, I finally let my arms go off his shoulder and plopped down on the couch. "You can go now," I waved him off, "Thanks?"
"Ah, you said 'thanks', you're not as rude as I think you are."
Okay, now I regretted saying thanks.
"Piss off."
"And... She is back," Jake said before walking out off the nurse's office.
"Hi Lexie, what happened?" I heard the voice of Ali, the nurse said.
"I don't think it's serious, I fell over the stairs and my left foot is limping a little." I explained to her.
"I'll just check whether or not your foot is swollen."
Ali finally finished checking my foot, grabbed an ice, and put it over my foot. "Nothing that serious, sprain it a teenzy bit, but nothing else."
Phew.
"Thank you so much Ali!" I said walking towards the door. I already missed the first period.
I walked as fast as I possible can towards my locker, Camilla and Joe was already waiting there.
"Where were you?" They asked at the same time.
"Fell over the stairs and went to the nurse," I explained to them. "Oh by the way, I'm planning on pranking him today, you two have to help me."
Camilla clapped her hands excitedly. We three went to biology class together. One of my favorite subjects. It amazed me learning about life and how it works. How a living organism works. How God created it. All these things working at once, and very fast. How all these cells and organs work together to form just a tenny tiny movement. How one very small thing is incredibly important.
"The plan?" Joe asked.
"Got a lil help from bro," I said, "All we need to do is go to Jake's house and do our thing."
They both nodded.
~*~*~
"Alec," I said over the phone, "Jake's already with you?"
"Yep," He answered.
"Good, bye, thanks lots," I pressed the end button and shoved my phone back into my pocket.
"It's time," I said to my two friends, smirking.
We picked up a bunch of tin foils we bought earlier and put it inside our bags. We crossed the street to his house.
"Hi Jared," I said greeting Jake's brother, "This is my friend, Camilla and Joe." I introduced him to my two best friends. "Mind if I go upstairs?"
"Nah, go ahead," He said.
"Thanks."
"Jake has a brother?" Camilla asked me.
"Mhmm."
We then went up to his room, get the tin foils and started wrapping everything in his bedroom in tin foils. After a few tiring hours, we were done. I took a picture and posted it on instagram.
"Success," I smiled evilly, looking at our finished work.
~*~*~
I woke up to the sound of my alarm clock and grabbed my phone from the bedside table.
