-JENNIE-

Lies.

All lies.

Eyes are the window to one's soul, or so they say. I stared at Rosie's brown orbs, and gave her a soft smile that never reached my eyes. It crumples my heart, how her eyes bare everything to me that her lips failed to do... in her eyes, I saw everything, I felt everything that she wanted to tell me.

I knew there was a reason behind, I knew she wasn't just tired. I'm not dumb, and certainly not oblivious. I wanted to ask her so badly but I had to keep it all to myself, as much I wanted to confront her, I know that what she needed right now is me.

I pulled her hands and let it rest on my waist, letting my palms rub her arms gently up to her back, and enveloping her in my embrace. I felt her body leaned in, placing her lips on my clothed shoulder, softly kissing and inhaling my scent as her body relaxed on mine.

I felt her let go a shaky breath as her hold tighten on my waist, I didn't mind it, I let her be. Instead, I continued on rubbing her back, feeling her in lengths that I haven't felt before.

"I love you." I softly replied back, meaning every words that I had uttered.

"Hmm... I know." She softly murmured.

We stayed still for a few seconds until I felt her slowly let go from the hug. "No, let's stay like this for awhile." I whispered, placing her hands back to where it was.

I can feel her arms slowly reached up to my back, to then caress my hair, making me close my eyes and lean my head to her touch.

When you're so in love with someone and you feel for them so deeply, you would now that certain gestures such as like this, do not just makes your heart full, but it also makes you feel emotions in a whole new level.

It makes you feel connected, no talking, no anything, just me and Rosie hugging and letting each other know that we're exhausted, that we're hurting, but still here for each other.

Gestures that do not need any words to let you know that you are not alone, that you are loved, and that it's okay to let down your guards down.

A love that feels like home.

Oh it's so much more than that.

EARLIER

"Dad, hi, sorry i'm late." I catch my breath, slumping down my chair and pulling the folders that contains the contract for the meeting later.

"You're late, Jennie." Dad looked at me seriously, I couldn't quite read his face, so I'm just hoping that he isn't disappointed.

"Mr. Chan left, you were 20 minutes late." Dad informed, sitting on the couch in front of me.

Fuck. I screwed up big time.

"So we're losing the deal?" I asked.

"I told him that I can personally present the project to him but he insisted, he said he wanted you to do it." Dad broke a small smile.

"Fortunately, you've made a huge impression to the industry for what you've done before, and now they wanted to work with you." Dad smiled proudly, and I felt my lips stretching in a wide smile.

"He will be here in 10, you better get everything done okay? Impress him, we need this deal, and I can't do it without you." Dad reminded, standing up and walking towards the door. But he turned around before leaving, and gave me a genuine smile and said; "I am proud of you Jennie, very proud." with that my dad left, and I found myself smiling happily.
