"Wouldn't we want to go there?" Elyse said. Aspen looked horrified.

"What if it goes to where James went?" Aspen warned, but the warning somehow seemed wistful, like she was eager to find him. Elsye stared at the ground, emotionless.

"If we don't touch the gate, how will we get out?" For all of his yelling, Ariyan had a point.

Something gold gleamed on the floor. Frost walked over to it, and picked it up. It was the key, the one that they had worked so hard to get, that damned key. Frost observed it, and then had an idea, he didn't know if it would work at all, but there was no point in not trying.
He walked over to the gate, did the thing even have a keyhole? The others saw him go to it, but he ignored their warnings. He found a keyhole, hidden in the meaningless patterns on the gate. He slid the key in, careful to not touch the gate, and twisted it. The gate began to open, they jumped back to avoid its doors.

Inside, or were they outside?, was what looked to be a giant maze.

They looked at each other, and they knew that they would all have to go in. At one point or another. They stood at the entrance, hesitant.

"I...I don't know guys! It's pretty scary if you ask me..." Cammie said, to no one in particular. Rasi took a deep breath, and walked over to the gate, and strode right through it. She couldn't sense any magic while walking through the gate, no prickly feeling, no nothing. She turned back to the others. "I think it's fine to walk through." Rasi said, trying to sound confident.

Ariyan muttered something, and then stormed through. Rasi saw a blur pass her. When it passed, it showed a very winded Lunar. Elyse, eyes wide, asked "What was that?" Lunar shrugged, and then went back to sulking, or whatever she was doing, not making eye contact with anyone.

The others walked through hastily, realizing they had been frozen in one spot for a while.

They stood in a line, facing the giant figure in front of them. It was what looked to be a maze.

"We should go together." Frost said. Lunar scoffed. "Where are we supposed to go?"

Frost looked at her. "In the maze, obviously." Lunar rolled her eyes. "Where in the maze? The other side? The center? Hell, this could be some crappy riddle that we are meant to solve with the 'power of friendship!'?"

Rasi sighed. What was up with this girl?

Rose looked a little hurt by the other girls outburst, Rasi had no idea what for. "I thought that if we go to the middle,we might find something." Rose said. Aspen gave her an encouraging glance, telling her to continue. "Do you know the myth of the Minotuar?" She asked. She was met with mostly nods, but a couple of confused looks. "Well all you need to know is that in the end, the Minotaur, this half-bull half-human monster thing, got put in the middle of a maze. So I was thinking that it's a clue, because there are lines on the ceiling, you know, and they kinda look like the Minotaur in the maze."
"Wait, so you're saying that, we have to go to...a Minotaur? In the maze?" Frost asked, he looked skeptical.

"It might not be a Minotaur," Aspen speculated, "It might be something else. A portal to get us out of here, maybe." The others nodded, starting to consider that.

"Well if there's something there, then we might as well start!" Rasi said, trying to put on a 'happy' face. Everyone looked at her as if she was crazy, well, understandably. "We should split up. So we cover more space in less time. Maybe...2 groups."
