Feyre pov.

I walk downstairs with a cup of boiling tea when i see the inner circle sitting at the couch staring at me

"Shit" I curse as I jump and spill my tea and just as it is about to burn me I use my water powers from the summer court. And I carefully guide it back to my cup. I let a small smile spread across my face and look up again and see my family still looking at me. Startled again, I dropped my teacup entirely. I frown and guide all the water to the sink and let it fall. I sigh and go sit down with my family. They all stare at me intensely and just when i am about to question what is happening amren says something

" oh my Cauldron guys you are freaking her the fuck out" she shoves cassian and mor who are sitting on either side of her.

Then it all drops to awkward silence again

"Look if you guys are just going to stare at me then you can do that but i am going to make breakfast" as i get up Cassian grabs my arm softly but firmly urging me to sit back down.

Cassian pov.

We all watch feyre and rhys calmly talks to her about last night.

I look at her with so much concern. We all love her, not just as our high lady but as our friend and family. We would all do anything for her yet, she still views herself as a burden and no matter how hard we try she just won't change her views.

We end the conversation and feyre and I go train.

Feyre isn't pulling her punches, not today. She punches my face and I duck only to be met by her knee. I stumble back and she kicks my legs from under me. I wall to the floor and hold my hands up in mock surrender.

" sorry" she says as she helps me up " i'm just a bit in my head"

" feyre its fine" i assure her " we get it" after feyre left to do work rhys showed us what he saw in her mind. It was scary. I never through someone's subconscious could be that deep, that dark. I shudder at the memory. But feyre sees instantly inquires

" he did not" she says

"Feyre" i say "he was just trying to help"

" HE SHOULDN'T OF EVEN SEEN IT" she screams "THIS IS MY BURDEN TO CARRY" tears stream down her face "I COULDN'T PROTECT THEM" she says breathlessly "I CAN'T PROTECT ANYONE" she falls to her knees and i wrap her in a crushing hug and envelope us in my wings.

"Its ok" i hold her while she violently shakes " you protect everyone" i say as i wipe her tears "just let us protect you"

Feyre pov.

I have spoken to everyone. Except rhys. Im shattered so i walk to bed and see him there clutchign the end of a burnt sheet.

"Rhys" i say breathlessly. He is instantly in front of me "im so sorry rhys"

" there is nothing to be sorry for darling" he says sweetly "everyone understands. We all experienced the same thing after our first battle. Its normal and we understand"

I nod. And we go to sleep.
