gone- Aelin/Rowan

Aelin pov.

The happiest day of the month. The day I get to see my kids. Some of the only time I get alone. No tourtue. No mind games. Darwin brings them down and puts them down at the door.

"One hour" he reminds me

"I know" I say simply.

Since I am allowed to be alone with them I am not allowed to hold them. He doesn't want me to use their blood to make a wrydportal. I would never hurt them anyway. It's not like they can walk yet.

"Hey babies" I say from across the room.

They look at me and smile. I cherish that smile. E le looks at Vi and they have a silent conversation. Then the most shocking thing happens. Ele stands. Then Vi. they walk over to me and climb into my arms. Aisling must have taught them. I send a silent prayer that she is safe. That she got away. They hug me and something falls out from under Eles shirt. A paper. I try to read it from where I am sitting.

Aelin. I have been teaching the twins to walk since you first arrived. I knew it would be helpful eventually. If you are getting this it means it worked. I stopped feeding them iron two weeks ago. I need you to use their blood. Make a wryd portal back to terasen. To your mate. Stay safe

Aisling.

My heart stops. I don't want to hurt my children but who knows what darwin will do to them. I make a small incision on elie's arm, knowing her fire heals her quicker. And put a bit of blood on Vi's hand. I try to show him what to draw on the floor. He copies me exactly, my babies are so smart. I show him the final symbol. A mountain and three stars above it. For terasen. The portal opens and I smell pine leaves and peppermint. Gawain comes back onto my lap and I wait for the portal to suck us in.

There is a knock on the door. Darwin. The door opens and Vi uses his magic to make a solid wall of air. Ele makes a wall of fire behind. I see Darwin grab the whip. He hits it straight through the wall and it slices through my back. I cry out in pain. He keeps going. Harder than ever. He reaches into my mind and my vision is funny. Vi and Ele hold one to me tight. The whip cracks again and again. He goes in and makes me black out, the last thing I see is the portal sucking us in. we are free. I just pray this is real.

Rowan pov.
Aisling takes us to a house in the woods.

"The twins will be with aelin now" aisling explains " there is a room of solid iron. She is in there"

"Thank you" i tell her "go back to the castle"

She nodded

"Talk to elide" says lorcan "tell her about a girl named kaitlyn and how her sacrifice saved her. If she still doesn't believe you tell her. Tell her her husband made her a brace of wind. That she was too stubborn to ever admit that her leg hurt her. Tell her that lord lorcan lorchan loves her"

Aisling nodes and leaves. I put my hand on lorcans shoulder and made him face me.

"We will get out of this. You will see elide again." i tell him

" oh i know" he says with a laugh "but elide made me think she was dead so many times i just want to give her a taste of her own medicine"

"Oh god. She will kill you ''I say with a light smile.

"Ohhh i know" he looks at me with a grin "worth it though" we laugh "now let's go get the queen."

I nodd.

We storm the place. We take no hostages. I make my way towards the room Aisling told me about. Cutting down everyone in my path. I use my wind to throw half our attackers to the wall and I make it to the stairs. I ram the door down. There is no one there. Except someone sitting in a plush chair. Darwin.

"Where is she" I growled out.

"Gone" he says simply and gestures to the wyrd marks on the floor.

"Where" I growled. And bring a blade to his neck.
"Hell if i know. But honestly. I don't mind if she is gone. She could be anywhere in the world. or . maybe she is in a different world" he says teasingly

"That's not possible" i tell him angrily

"Isn't it. The weird keys were not put back? So why wouldn't it be?" he says bluntly.

I scream and slice my blade. Cutting of his smugg head from his stupid body.

The others run down to where I am.

"Where are they?" asks lysandra.

I don't answer

"ROWAN ANSWER ME" she screams

"GONE" I point to the wyrd marks. The ones about location already faded.
"No" says aedion weakly " she cant be"

"I still feel the blood bond" explains fenrys "she isn't dead"

"But she is gone" I say bluntly.

aelin pov.

I am chained to the chair. Still my eyes open and i see i am in a bedroom. With other fae. They are surrounding a bed and i see a little girl sitting on it, and a female holding a child. With one violet eye. I see three of the males are with wings. I black out again.

I open my eyes and see two females reaching for Vi and Ele. i set a barrier of fire around them. The iron must not work here.

"No one touches my children ever again"

I black out.
