"Do you have everything Luna?" y/n asked as she stood up straight after packing her bags.
"Everything that I need, what about you?" Luna replied.
"I think I'm good."
"Won't be needing a remembrall I hope," Luna said as she gave a soft smile.
"No, I better not," y/n said laughing.
"I'll see you after the Holidays, I do hope you have a good time at home," Luna said as she got pulled into a hug by y/n.
"You too Luna, be sure to write to me!"
Y/n pulled away from the hug as they gave each other a soft smile. Y/n turned to grab her bag off her bed.
"Are you two going home for the holidays?" Annie questioned once she walked through the door.
"We are, are you?" y/n responded.
"No, my parents are going to be away, plus I quite like it here. I just hope I don't get too lonely."
"Don't worry, we'll be back before you know it," Luna reassured Annie.
"Don't get yourself into too much trouble," y/n laughed as she gave Annie a soft hug. "Well, I'll see you guys soon," she said as she waved and walked out the door.
Y/n smiled to herself as she giddily walked towards the Great Hall, hoping to see Harry, Hermione, and Ron there to say goodbye. She couldn't imagine Harry going back to his family as he had told her they were awful. She wasn't quite sure whether Ron and Hermione were staying, but she hoped at least one of them would so that Harry would have a friend.
"So, your family does want you around," y/n snapped her head up at the sound of a whiny voice that pulled her from her thoughts. "Can't imagine why they'd want an annoying brat like you around," the boy finished with a scoff.
Y/n burst out laughing at the blond who stood opposite of her, "I'm sorry," y/n said after she controlled her laughter. "I'm sorry, but I refuse to be called a brat by a Malfoy."
"I already called it as it is, you can't just refuse."
"Well then I refuse to take it to heart. Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm trying to say goodbye to my friends before I go home to my family who thinks I'm rather pleasant," y/n said, jutting her chin out ever so slightly, as she tried to get past Malfoy.
"Oh, you mean the other blood traitor, I can see why you're all friends, hanging out with someone like Granger," Malfoy bitterly spat.
"And a Happy Christmas to you too," y/n snarled, giving Malfoy a hard shove so she could get to the Great Hall.
"Go around me next time, seriously, you're pathetic," Malfoy mocked. Y/n didn't bother to look back and give him the satisfaction of saying something back. She started skipping out of excitement and didn't care if Malfoy was watching. If she had turned around, she would've seen that he was indeed watching, letting out the slightest of chuckles as he finally turned to walk the other way.
"Hermione, wait!" y/n yelled when she saw Hermione stood in the archway to the Great Hall. "Are Harry and Ron here?"
"Over there," Hermione said, pointing her finger to where Harry and Ron sat across from each other, deep into a game of wizard's chess.
Y/n followed Hermione to where the two boys sat. She stared in awe at the Great Hall which had Christmas trees lining either side. At the end of the hall, Flitwick was decorating the biggest Christmas tree y/n had seen in her life. All the trees had matching candles hung from them and gold and white ornaments sprinkled throughout the tree.
