"Harry!" y/n exclaimed when she saw him in the Great Hall. She ran over to him and gave him a hug that was more awkward than she had anticipated. "I've missed you," she said when they let go of each other.

"Hi, I've missed you too," Harry replied. "I have to show you something tonight," he rushed to finish.

"Y/n!" Hermione said, cutting y/n off from what she was about to say. Ron peaked out from behind her but she continued, "How was your holiday?"

"Hi Hermione, hi Ron. Mine was good, yours?"

"Brilliant," Harry and Ron said at the same time. Y/n smiled as she nodded softly to them. The food appeared on the table and y/n took that as her cue to leave.

"Hello Luna," she said as she approached Luna. She noticed that Luna was wearing the necklace that she had bought her.

"Hello y/n, I hope you had a lovely holiday."

"Um, yeah, I did. It was quite nice, I learned more about the stars and stuff," y/n replied. She didn't want to tell Luna about the party because she didn't think Luna would be that interested and she didn't really want to talk about it herself anyways.

Luna raised her eyebrows and nodded, "That's nice," she said giving a faint smile, which y/n returned. The two girls then turned to eat the food that sat in front of them.

"Harry, that's my foot!" y/n whispered loudly at Harry from under his invisibility cloak.

"Sorry," he replied hastily, "We're nearly there."

They walked in silence for a bit, Harry occasionally stepping on y/n's foot, but she didn't say anything in order to reduce their chances of getting caught.

"Here," Harry said as he took off the cloak. In front of them was a grand mirror. "Look."

Y/n peered into the mirror and was shocked by what she saw in return. "What am I meant to see?" she asked, trying to cover up her surprise.

"Dumbledore told me it shows your deepest wants."

Y/n stood in front of the mirror, stunned. She didn't know what to think about what she saw reflecting back on her. She turned to Harry with a smile that she hoped didn't look forced.

"What do you see?" harry asked.

"Isn't that a bit.. Personal," y/n said as she tried to come up with an excuse.

"If you tell me, I'll tell you."

"Um," she paused as she looked at the mirror, "I see myself on the cover of a newspaper, it's titled 'smartest witch in all the land.'," she lied to him.

"That's brilliant. I see my parents," Harry paused for a moment, "I wish I got to spend time with them, I wish I got to know them."

"I'm so sorry Harry," she tried her best to comfort him and gave him a hug. Now she felt even worse for lying to him, but she really didn't want to tell him what she actually saw. "I'm sure they were wonderful people," she added sorrowfully.

"Yeah, we should get going, yeah?"

"Yeah, I'm tired," y/n replied as Harry tossed the cloak over the two of them and they headed back to their house dorms. Y/n got the pleasure of getting to keep the cloak, Harry gave it to her once they reached the Gryffindor portrait in order for her to get back without getting caught. Y/n made sure to get herself up early to return it to him the next day.
