An extra long one. Hooray!
The sun had started setting outside the car windows.
Jungkook checked the clock on his phone: 7:00 PM
"Hyung?"
"Hmm?"
"Do you know when we're planning to stop?"
"Ideally before sunset" Jimin focused intently on the road, "But we haven't found a good place yet. Chief Min said there needs to be enough space to spread out blankets and the like, but I still haven't seen a clearing."
Jungkook giggled.
"What?"
"It's funny to see you so serious."
"It is serious. I don't want to drive after dark."
"I know, hyung. It's just...cute."
Jimin scoffed. "Did you really just call me cute?"
"You are, Jiminnie~", said Jungkook with a baby voice, "You're so adorable." He shook the elder's arm lightly.
Jimin sighed, "You must really be bored..."
"Mhm."
"Don't worry, we'll stop soon enough. You can talk to V Oppa then."
"Agh, Jimin!" Jungkook threw himself back against the seat, "What am I going to do about you..."
Jimin took one hand off of the wheel and tickled the younger's stomach.
"Ah- hey!" Jungkook giggled.
"Do what you want, just remember, I'm the one driving you..."
"You won't let me forget, hyung", replied Jungkook, giving the elder a small smile.
He turned to see Jin and Hoseok asleep once again. "That's why Jin hasn't complained since I woke up..."
"For as much as they argue, those two really snuggle in their sleep."
"They look so peaceful", said Jungkook, smiling at the two.
"Anyone would be fooled looking at them now." Jimin switched on the headlights .
Like magic, the illuminated surroundings revealed a clearing behind a thin row of trees up ahead.
"Hey, hyung, what about here-"
"Call Tae's phone, Kookie!"
The younger whipped out his phone and dialled Taehyung's number.
As before, Namjoon picked up.
"Jungkook?" The elder sounded half asleep.
Jungkook giggled, "Sorry if I woke you up. Jimin and I found a good place to stop. Could you call Hyojin and tell her?"
"Okay!", said Namjoon, more enthusiastically this time.
The line went dead and Jungkook started hopping in his seat, waiting for the phone to ring again.
"I've slept three times today, and I didn't even drive, and I'm still so excited to sleep!"
"We have to eat first..."
"That too! And beg Tae to forgive me..."
"Have you forgiven him?"
"Of course. I mean, what he said really hurt, but I can't blame him for thinking that way. I just have to prove him wrong."
Jimin's eyes darted towards Jungkook for a split second. "And what did he say exactly?"
"Well...the whole thing started with me telling him I told you about today - which he was fine with - but he didn't understand how I could trust Jin and Hoseok not to say anything. And then we argued about trusting people, and I said...well...I implied that he should be more understanding of them, since they're criminals...which I know is a horrible thing to say, but it just came out in the moment. I don't see him like that. At all. But then...he said I was just like any cop, and that I probably didn't even care about him. Which is more than fair, I mean, I kind of did say the same thing about him...anyway, then I said he and Jin were alike...I'm not sounding like a good person here, am I..."
