My heart pounded as I paced back and forth. My best friend had just been shot twice in the abdomen, which could be fatal. All I could think about were all the outcomes, and they didn't seem good.

Who am I kidding? I'm a glass-half-empty person. I sat down in a chair, my head hanging low.

"Henry, we captured a government official," Geoffory said, walking towards me.

"Alright," I sighed.

"Are you okay?" He asked, sitting next to me.

"Ells is my best friend. She's all I've got. I can't lose her."

Tears welled up in my eyes.

"Come interrogate the official we captured, maybe you can get something out of him," he offered.

"I guess anything to take my mind off of things," I said.

Geoffory lead me down a hallway to a room they locked up the captured official.

"I'm not going to say anything! You can do whatever you want. I won't give you anything." A vaugely familiar voice said.

"Sure," I smirked.

"I won't tell you anything!" he kept saying.

I laughed.

"You're a persistant one, aren't you?" I asked.

He stayed silent.

"I'll take that as a yes," I said.

He stayed silent, again.

"I hope you understand you're speaking to the leader of the toppats," I said.

I could hear his expression change, "W-W-Well, I still won't say anything."

"Is that so?" I asked.

"I'm not afraid of you!" he blurted out.

I circled back and headed towards the lighted area so that he could see me.

"Is that so," I slamed my hands on the table. "Charles?"
