Never Be

"This one good?" I ask the group sitting on the couch. "Ya sure" "yep" "okay" they all say in agreement. "I'll get popcorn!" Mika says getting up and running to the kitchen. "I'll help" Kat says following her. "Now that she's gone, Calum!" Michael says turning to face Calum. "What?" Calum says as Luke and Michael turn to face him as well. "You need to ask Mika out!" Luke says punching him in the arm. I laugh. "Guys! Now she knows" Calum says pointing to me. "Oh I already knew" I say laughing and continuing to play with the cd cover. "What!? Who told her!" He says looking back at the boys. They all turn their heads toward Ashton. "I'm sorry! She's my girlfriend I can't keep secrets from her!" He says gesturing to me which makes me laugh.

"Sam! Get in here!" I hear Kat's voice call from the kitchen. "Why?" I say looking at the boys confused. They all shrug. "Ummm the microwave is on fire!" I hear Mika's voice. I rush into kitchen to find the microwave not actually on fire. "The micro age isn't on fire!" I say pointing to the microwave. "We just needed you" Kat says. "For what?" I say. "Should I ask Cal out?" Mika says staring at the ground then looking up at me. "No!" I say, my eyes widened. "What? Why?" Kat says. "Because, before you called me in here, the boys were talking to Cal about asking out Mika" I say walking backwards towards the door. I know what Kat is gunna say. She is gunna send me back in there to find out when he gunna ask her out. "Well what are you in here for? Go back in there and find out when he's gunna ask her out" and there it is. I turn around and walk back into the living room.

"Okay this is stupid Cal. She likes you, you like her, just ask her out God dammit" I say sitting down on Ashton's lap. "Okay we'll help you CUZ this has to be super fucking cute" I say they all roll their eyes. "Do you want Cal to date Mika" I say crossing my arms. "Okay fine let's do something 'super cute!'" Luke says mimicking me.

We all talk about what we are gunna do when Mika and Kat walk in unexpectedly. "Nothing!" "We aren't doing anything!" "Shit" "I like pancakes" "Hey babe!" We all say looking at them surprisingly. "Hey" Kat says sitting on Mikey's lap.

"Sam can we talk?" Mika asks me. "Ya of course Mikachu" I say getting up and walking to my bedroom Mika following.

"What's up?" I ask closing the door and hoping on the bed. "I don't want Cal to be all "try hard" when he asks me out. I don't want a big production. I want him to be himself" Mika says fiddling her thumbs. "Aw of course Mika! You're real nervous aren't you!" I say laughing and patting her on the back. "Ya I am nervous as fuck! He is gunna be my first boyfriend!" She says getting up and pacing back and forth. "Be excited! Trust me you'll be so much happier with a boyfriend. I'm so much happier with Ashton then I ever was single" I say getting up as well. "You two are a really cute couple" Mika says with a smile. "Thanks. Let's go downstairs ya?" I say with a laugh as we exit my room to walk back downstairs.

We all sit and watch the movie. I lean over and whisper in Cal's ear "Don't do what we planned! She want you to be you!". "What do I do then!" He whisper yells to me. "Just be yourself and she'll say yes. I know it." I whisper back. He nods and nervousness paints his face.

Not long after, Cal grabs the remote to pause the movie and stands up. I snuggle into Ashton I know exactly what he's gunna do. "Um...so...I...um..." "Cal" I say. He looks at me fiddling with his thumbs. "Chill" I mouth. He nods and looks at Mika. "I know that I'm not the most romantic person out there but um maybe this is romantic enough" he grabs an acoustic guitar and starts to play a song.

I look up at Ashton and smile. He leans over and pecks my lips. "I love you" he whispers. That the first time he's ever told me he loves me and at that moment I realize "I love you too" I say we both smile and kiss again.

He finishes with a smile. He takes him acoustic guitar off his shoulder and places it to the side. "Mika, I know I haven't known you for a long time but I know that you are the one I want to be with all the time. Will you please go out with me?" Cal says kneeling down on the ground infront of Mika who is now standing. Mika wipes her tears and nods her head. Cal smiles and they kiss. "Aw" all 5 of us say.
