Luke knocks on the door again. “I thought ya’ll were leaving” She says opening the door once again. “Maybe we could do something today ya?” I say with a smile. “Umm…ya sure why not right?” She says gesturing for us to come inside we all hesitate but go in anyways. “I like what you’ve done to the place” Mika says to try and be nice. “Ya thanks lemme just get changed and we’ll leave this dump” Lacey says skipping up the stairs.
“Guys she seems nice” I say making sure she cant hear. “Ya but that’s what Lacey does and pour Cal here fell for it” Ashton says patting Cal on the back. “Whatever lets just take her to the mall everyone loves the mall” Kat says. “Not everyone” Luke says raising his hand. “Mate we can get that new video game!” Michael says putting Luke hand down. “Ya let’s go to the mall!” Luke says which makes up giggle. “Cal you alright mate” Ashton says patting Cal’s back. “Ya im fine I just don’t trust her” He says. “That’s alright babe” Mika says walking to Cal and pecking his lips. “Ya babe” Ashton says going in for a kiss as well but Cal pushes him off. “Whatever happens, make sure Lacey isn’t left alone with Cal. We need like a code word for Cal to say when we is bothered” Kat says to us. “How about octopus” Michael says. We all agree just as Lacey walks down the stairs.
“Right, where we going” Lacey says walking out the door. “Um the mall?” I say. “Ya sure whatevs” Lacey says getting into the passenger seat of the car in our lot. “Um okay then” I say getting into the driver seat and everyone else squishing into the back.
I drive out of our lot and onto the main road. The car ride is silent mostly because of the awkwardness filling the air with Lacey in the car.
“So how bout that weather” Luke says trying to cut the silence. “Oh shut up Luke” Lacey says and we all look at her in disbelief.
Did she actually just tell him to shut up. “Look Lacey if you’re gunna go an-“ ”Michael I can fight for myself” Luke says cutting off Michael. “Look Lacey if you’re gunna act all bitchy again then you can just get out of the car and Sam isn’t stopping so I suggest you tuck and roll” Luke says from the backseat.
That shut her up.
We finally get to the mall and we all get out of the car. “So who’s looking for what?” I say. “The boys all talk about the new video game they want while the girls talk about shoes. We enter the mall through the doors and stop at a map of the mall. “Look the video game store and the shoe store are close to each other” I say pointing at the map. “Alright lets go” Lacey says walking down the main walkway and we all follow.
“Lacey I love your shoes” Kat says as we walk down the walkway. “Ya there real old but there pricey” she says not even thanking Kat for the compliment or even looking her way.
We go to the shoe store and the boys go to the video game store.
The boys converse about the new video game they got and we converse about our shoes.
The boys simmer down and Lacey walks over to Cal. “So babe how’s life? Haven’t seen you in a while? Been seeing anyone recently?” Lacey to Cal. “Um ya I am” Cal says putting his arm around Mika. “I’m seeing her and I’d rather you not talk to me” Cal says staring her right in the face. “Why do you not want me to talk to you?” Lacey says locking arms with Cal. “Because you made my life a living hell” Cal mumbles. “Speak up babe nobody can hear you when you mumble like that” Lacey says. “BECAUSE YOU MADE MY LIFE A LIVING HELL!” Cal shouts. “Sam should we stop her?” Ashton whispers to me. “Just let him blow off a little steam, he knows the word” I whisper back.
“WHEN WE DATED, THAT YEAR, THAT WAS THE WORST YEAR IVE EVER LIVED THROUGH!” Cal screams and people start to look in our direction. “YOU MADE ME FEEL LIKE ABSOLUTE SHIT!! IT GOT TO THE POINT WHERE I STARTED TO SLIT MY WRISTS AND YOU DIDN’T CARE! NO YOU WERE TO BUSY CHEATING ON ME WITH WHATEVER HIS NAME WAS! YOU DIDN’T LOVE ME OR TREAT ME WITH ANY RESPECT I LOVED YOU AND WHENEVER I TOLD YOU THAT, YOU LIED AND SAID THAT YOU LOVED ME TOO WHEN IN REALITY, YOU WERE SAYING THE EXACT SAME SENTENCE TO 4 OTHER GUYS WHO PROBABLY FELT THE SAME WAY I DID! I BET YOU’RE DATING 3 PEOPLE RIGHT NOW AND YOU HIT ON LUKE!! IM SICK AND TIRED OF YOUR LIES LACEY AND YOUR ATTITUDE SUCKS BALLS! THE DAY WE BROKE UP, THAT WAS THE HAPPIEST DAY OF MY WHOLE LIFE! YOU JUST WALK IN AND FUCK UP EVERYBODY'S LIVES! YOU’RE A HEAD FUCK AND IM NOT FALLING FOR THIS AGAIN!! SO LEAVE AND DON’T EVER COME BACK INTO MY LIFE OKAY?!” Cal finishes. I almost want to applaud him but I think this isn’t the time. “Cal..” Lacey starts. “I DON’T WANNA HEAR IT!” Cal screams again. “But Cal I…” “Octopus” Cal says. “What?” Lacey says to him. “OCTOPUS OCTOPUS OCTOPUS OCTOPUS I WANT HER TO LEAVE!” Cal screams.
Luke and Ashton take her out of the mall while Cal breaks out crying into Mika's shoulder. The boys come back inside 10 minutes later without Lacey. "What did you do with her?" I asked. "Called her a cab and sent her back to her house" Luke says. I laugh and kiss Ashton.
"Let's go home" I say rubbing Cal's back. Mika comforts Cal as we walk back to the car. Um Cal do you wanna sit in the passenger seat?" I ask him. "Only if Mika drives" he says looking toward Mika. "Sure babe" Mika says kissing Cal. I throw her the keys and get in the back with Luke, Kat, Michael, and Ash.
