Chapter 15

* Anastasia *

I left Bonnie's house feeling validation . So it was true . There was a way to bring Nikolina back . I didn't care the risk . I had nothing to lose . I would do it. The next Eclipse was this Friday and today was Wednesday . I just had to stay clear of everyone for a day so I didn't tell them what I was doing and I had to get the dagger . That would be the hardest part . I had to get the white ash dagger for Bonnie to drive through my heart . I sighed and drove home , walking through the door . It seemed that nobody was home and then Elijah walked downstairs and looked at me quietly .

" Hello . " he said looking at me .

I pushed passed him , but he grabbed my arm gently . 

" Are you alright ? " he asked worried .

I looked down , trying to hide my tears as I pulled my arm back not answering him and walked upstairs to my room , slamming the door and then sliding down the back of it and burrying my face in my hands .

* Elijah *

Something was wrong . All of it was wrong . I had to find a way to talk to her . This was killing me . I couldn't stand it .

* Anastasia *

" Please don't cry . " whispered a voice .

I looked up and saw Nikolina's reflection in the mirror . I gasped and blurred up , putting a finger on the mirror in disbeilf . 

* Rebekah *

I was sitting in my room in the dark , just looking around . I felt like there was something Anastasia wasn't telling me . Should I worry ? Probably not . I was looking down when I heard a voice . 

" Mamma . " the voice said.

I looked up just in time to see Tatherina . I shrieked in horror and fell off the bed , hitting my head and passing out .

* Elena *

Kol and I were walking through the park hand in hand and we looked just like any other couple . But we weren't like any other couple . 

" Elena , have you ever thought about the future ? " Kol asked suddenly .

I looked up at him , squeezing his hand as we walked . 

" I used to . I had my future with Stefan all mapped out . " I said with a sigh .

He nodded .

" And mine with Katherine . " he said quietly .

" Why do you ask ? " I asked curiously looking back down at or intertwined hands .

" Well ... I just ... I really like you . " he said , looking up at the sky . 

I smiled and kissed his cheek .

" You make living worth while again since Katherine's death . " he admitted .

I put my head on his shoulder . 

" I feel the same way about you . Kol , I want to spend the rest of my life with you . " I replied hesitantly.

* Anastasia *

" Nikolina . " I whispered , seeing my daughter's reflection in the mirror , with tears streaming down my face .

" Please don't cry , mamma . " she said sadly .

I shook my head . 

" I-I can't believe it's you ! " I said as tears fell like rain from my eyes .

She gave me a small smile . 

" I have to go , mamma . " she said as she faded .

" NO ! No come back ! " I screamed . 

* Elijah *

I heard Anastasia scream and jumped up , making my way upstairs as I pounded on the door . 

 " Anastasia ! Anna ! Open up ! ANNA ! " I called , desperately . 

Nothing . 

I kicked the door down , rushing in to see the window wide open .

*  Elena *

" I have something to ask you . " Kol said seriously . 

I smiled . 

" What is it ? " I asked .

He paused , turning to face me and putting a hand on my cheek . 

" Elena , I want to spend my life with you . I want to be there for you . I want to be the one that you talk about your day with . I may not be Stefan , but I care about you and I promise to take care of you . " he replied , looking down into my eyes .

I nodded . 

" I want to spend my life with you too and I want to tell you about my day . I know I'm not Katherine , but at the end of the day, I love you , Kol . " I whispered .

He bent down and pulled me into a kiss , sliding a ring onto my finger . 

* Anastasia *

I didn't know where I was running , so I just kept going , watching as the mansion got smaller and smaller in the distance . I kept going as I finally made my way to the cemetery and collapsed by Nikolina's grave , clawing at the dirt with my fingernails . I felt arms around me , cradleing me protectively . 

" Shh .... " Elijah whispered into my hair .

I smacked at his chest hysterically .

" NO ! " I whimpered .
