Chapter 17

* Anastasia *

I managed to lie to the whole family about taking the dagger . I watched as the moon rose up from the balcony of the house . I slid into time tight jeans and a tank top and hurried out the door , shutting it quietly behind me as I turned the car on and sped to Bonnie's house , getting out with the dagger in my back pocket . I walked up and knocked on the door . Bonnie opened the door and invited me in . I nodded with a small smile as I sat down on the couch . 

" How long until we can do the spell ? " I asked .

" 5 minitues when the eclipse happens . Do you have the dagger ? " Bonnie asked , grabbing a few old spell books .

I nodded , drumming my long nails on the coffee table as Bonnie set up some candles and lit them . 

" How is this going to work ? " I asked her , tilting my head to the side .

" I'm going to say the spell and stab you through the heart with the dagger , which is sort of like killing you . After that , there's not much I can do to help . I don't know what will happen because I haven't actually died . Remember to keep part of your mind here . If you let yourself wander , then there's a good chance you might not come back into your body . " she explained .

" I thought that you couldn't kill me , only dagger me . " I said , crossing my arms .

" If you and I push , then we might be able to break the berrier . " she replied .

I nodded . 
" Alright , Bonnie . I trust you . " I said .

She nodded with a small smile .
" You don't have to do this ." she replied .

" Yes I do . If there's a chance to bring her back , I'll do it . " I said , set in my ways .

Bonnie looked down .
" You'd risk anything for your family , won't you ? " she asked , shaking her head .

I nodded .
" They're all that I have . " I said with a small smile .

She smiled .
" That's nice . " she said sadly .

" I'd do it for you too , Bonnie . " I said .

She looked up at me surprised and I only nodded . Thinking about what could happen , I reached into my pocket and handed her a letter I'd written explaining things if it ended badly . 
" What is it ? " she asked .
" A letter explaining things . " I said .

Bonnie nodded and slid it into her pocket .

" Thank you . " I said .

" It was my pleasure to help you , Anna and if you don't make it out , then it was a pleasure to know such an extraordinary woman such as yourself . " she said .

I pulled her into a hug and then laid down on the couch , and closed my eyes .

" Do it , Bonnie . " I said quietly .

Bonnie took a deep breath and I felt a wet tear drop on me as she leaned over and chanted something , driving the stake through my heart . I gasped and felt the life leave my body .

* Elijah *

Anastasia must've been tired . All of that stress had drained her energy and so I didn't bother to wake her this morning . I found it rather strange that it was really late and I hadn't heard a noise from her . I also wanted to point out the beautiful lunar eclipse and so I went up to our room and knocked . Nothing .
