Jace's POV

I turned the corner, my back pressed up against the wall, checking both ways before running and crouching behind the couch. Light footsteps echoed through the deadly silent house. The person was trying to be discrete, but they had not tried hard enough, I heard them. I quickly peeped over the edge of the seat at an attempt to figure out who it was. I just about caught the curtain moving.

Still crouched, I sneaked over to the couch that was closest to the curtain.

With one quick movement of my hand, I pulled the curtain backwards and I was met with a pair of deep brown eyes.

I smiled at Ivy as she mischievously grinned back.

She had stayed the night last night in my bed, waking up next to her this morning.

I woke up before her this morning. I watched as she laid so peacefully next to me, her chest slowly moving up and down. I traced her perfect features with my finger, memorising every single aspect of her face. She had her beautiful curls encased in a pair of Skylar's tights, protected from messing them up in her sleep. Ivy insisted that she looked stupid and for me to not look at her, but I couldn't resist. She was the most breath-taking woman I had ever met; inside and out. I tucked a loose curl that had fallen out of the tights in the night behind her ear.

I was carefully trying not to disturb her rest, so when she began to stir, I kissed her on the forehead and went downstairs.

This morning, I had remembered that she eats two pieces of toast for breakfast, both topped with strawberry jam. I walked out to my car and went into the boot. Before I picked her up yesterday, I went and bought the jam she likes with the hope that she would stay. I had to go to five fucking different shops for the shitting stuff, but I didn't mind. It was for her.

When she had first walked down the stairs in this morning, she was wearing a pair of my shorts and one of my tops. My clothes looked fucking good on her, better than I had imagined. So, when I was now stood in front of her, stood in front of the window, her still dressed in my clothes, all rationality left my head.

Ivy, Skylar and I had all been playing with the toy guns I found earlier on in the day. Skylar and Ivy had teamed up against me but right now, all I could focus on was her.

I dropped the toy gun that was in my hand on the chair behind me and took a step towards her.

She took one back. Her head turned as she realised her back was pressed up against the window.

She turned back to me and her hypnotising eyes were wearily staring at me.

I took another step forward.

Her breathing became heavier when I raised my arms to either side of her, my hands on the window behind her, trapping her to her position.

I observed as her eyes glanced to my lips. She caught her bottom lip between her teeth as she looked me dead in the eye. She no longer looked confused. No, that was replaced with a strong and confident stare. The type that fucks you up.

My peripheral vision caught that sight of her hand moving up.

Ivy placed her hands on my chest, her fucking beautiful eyes feeling like they were looking through my soul. Her eyes dropped to her hand when she used her slender finder to trace a heart exactly where my heart was beating erratically for her. My skin burned against her hand. I intensely watched her face as she placed the palm of her hand flat against my chest.
