I walked into station with a scowl on my face. I ignored those who said hello to me. As I reached my desk, I threw my things on top of it, which startled Jones. He looked at me from behind his newspaper, shocked.
"What's the matter with you kid?" Jones asked as he folded over his newspaper to look at me.
"NJ won't have sex with me," I snapped. I sat down and slammed the power button on my computer to turn it on.
"Am I supposed to say sorry?" Jones asked in confusion.
"I'm this close to just walking in front of him naked," I said holding my fingers close together.
"He must have a good reason why he won't have sex with ya, Kid," Jones said.
"He said, 'Because our first time should be special.' and 'You don't seem ready yet.' That's all bull! I'm ready. I've been ready since Valentine's Day. He doesn't even have to do anything! He could lay there and I could ride him-"
"Okay! OKAY! Kid!" Jones interrupted. "I don't need to know that much about it. A man would do anything to have sex with a beautiful woman. You're a virgin right." I nodded. "If he actually loves you, he wants to make you feel good and enjoy it."
"But he's a virgin too!" I shouted.
Many of the guys around the station looked over at me. I glared at all of them, causing them to turn away in shock. They weren't used to my angry side.
"He's probably nervous too," Jones said. "Why don't you talk to your brother about this. He's a therapist right?"
"I don't really want to talk to my engaged gay brother about my non-existent sex life. Besides he's a therapist for children and teenagers, not adults. It's times like this that I wish my mom was still around," I sighed.
"Or maybe you could get some girl friends," Jones sighed as he reopened his newspaper.
"Great, know of any girls my age?" I asked. I remembered Jones saying he has two daughters.
"I'm not introducing you to my daughters," Jones said sternly, not bothering to wake up from his paper.
"Trouble in paradise?" Captain Butler asked as he walked up to us, joining in our conversation. "I couldn't help but overhear something about him being a virgin."
"NJ won't have sex with me. Jones won't talk about it with me. And he told me to find some girl friends my age."
"I would introduce you to my daughters, but they live out of state," Butler sighed. "Have you tried making friend with some of the female cops in this section?"
"I don't know what to tell them about who I'm dating. And I don't really go anywhere when I'm not working without NJ. Plus all my high school friends haven't talked to me since graduation. Besides I can't exactly tell my friends everything about my relationship."
Butler looked at me in shock. "I've never met someone so desperate for friends, but so anti-friends."
"I'm not anti-friends. I just need to make friends with people who won't judge me for dating a mafia boss."
"Good luck. I've judged you since you first told him to raincheck," Jones said.
"No one asked, Jones," I snapped.
"I've never seen you so irritable," Butler said in surprise. "You really need some female friends."
"You know what, I'm going to go work on some leads," I snapped grabbing my things. "If there's a new body, let me know."
I made my way to my car, slamming the door to the station behind me. As I got in the car, I couldn't help but be reminded of my conversation with Jihwan last night.
