Cedric Pov

Diggory carried me to my dorm. He sat by the bed, waiting. "Nice acting", I said once I was able to move.
He didn't look at me. "You have to tell her. Give that girl some closure". I sighed. "If I do, she'll be in danger". He gave me a look. "Draco Malfoy told me that she tried to kill herself last night. He caught her before she hit the ground. She thought you were dead, so her first thought was to throw herself off the top of a castle tower". I stare at him wide eyed. "Where is she?"

Lex's Pov

My eyes are puffy. When I open them, I see Draco. Why am I in his dorm? Oh. I don't have any tears left to cry. He crawls back into bed next to me and rocks me. I hold onto his arm. "How" I ask him. He seems hesitant, like he doesn't want to tell me. "Spit it out".

"Voldemort killed him. The dark lord is back". No. No no no.

In my panic, someone knocks on the door. I hide under the blanket and Draco answers the door. "What the fuck? Lex!" I stick my head up and my mouth falls open. I fly across the room and fall into his arms. "Are you kidding? Is this a sick joke?" I say. "Shh, I'm right here Lex" Cedric comforts.

I'm going hysterical. "But you were dead, you were in my arms and you were dead and I tried to kill myself but he saved me", my head jerks towards Draco, who's mouth is open, just as shocked as I am. "Lex", Cedric says after a while. "What?" I say, feeling like the world is right again.

"I can't stay".

What?

"Every second that I stay here, puts you in more danger. I have to leave for a while, but I'll come back. I only came here to give you closure. Remember, I won't die in your lifetime".

I stare at him, uncomprehending.

He holds my face in his hands. "I love you, Lex. Live your life. Date whoever you want. Do whatever you want. Just know I'll be looking out for you. I'll be waiting to come back to you, when it's safe. If".

He looks over at Draco. "You can't tell anyone I'm alive", he says. Draco nods. "Keep her safe. If you ever touch her against her will again I will murder you".

"I won't make the same mistakes again" Draco promises.

"Good". Cedric untangles himself from my arms. He inches towards the door. "I might be able to write you eventually. Give my owl a letter if you see him". I nod. "I love you Cedric. Stay safe", I whisper. He presses his lips to mine and then runs off into the hallway, hiding in the shadows.

Cedric's Pov

"I'm proud of you", Amos says over the whir of the helicopter. "It was an honor to stay with you", I say. I hop into the helicopter and it takes off. Denali, here I come.
