"Avada Kedavra."
Snape stepped out from behind them, the spell hitting my body forcefully, causing me to fly backwards onto the forest floor.
The shrill scream that left my lips filled the air, so loud people from miles away could've heard. It didn't stop.
My fists clenched so hard my nails dug into my palms, causing them to bleed, but that wasn't enough to stop the pain I was enduring.
My veins began to glow, along with my eyes, blinding light filling the forest as the spell ripped apart my body, leaving every limb I had covered in cuts and gashes, blood gushing from every one, feeling as though my vessels were bursting.
The pain began to cease slightly as I stood shakily with the last bit of strength I had, staring at them as tears of blood ran down my cheeks.
"You're all bloody cowards, and you won't win," I screamed, wailing in pain as thorns and tree roots began to pull the death eaters into the dirt.
Snape, Bellatrix and Lucius managed to escape, but the rest of them were buried under the ground, suffocating on the earth's soil as my mind washing over with a sense of deja vu.
Draco watched in awe as I collapsed to the ground, every inch of my body gushing blood. The glowing wouldn't stop.
He sat next to me, lifting me into his lap as I stared up at him, my brain going in and out of consciousness. "Look at me baby," he whimpered, caressing my cheek. "Look at my eyes," he said. I looked into them.
Oh what a beautiful grey they were; like a storm that brewed over the sea, a cup of tea that had yet to be stirred, a cloud waiting to pour rain.
And suddenly, the glowing ceased, but so did my vision. I passed out in his arms, bleeding out on his clothing, leaving him wondering what in the hell had just happened.
DRACO'S POV
Snape stepped out from behind me, using the killing curse on her.
My mouth gaped as I watched her collapse, her scream piercing my ears as I covered them with my hands. Her body began to tear apart, blood gushing from her wounds as she shook on the ground. She began to glow, her scream still filling the air as her body pulsed with light, causing me to shut my tear filled eyes.
I reopened them when I heard her voice.
"You're all cowards, and you won't win," she yelled, her voice filled with pain as she bled through her clothes. I turned in shock as the death eaters got engulfed into the ground, vines twisting through their throats as they struggled to stay alive, dirt covering their heads as their screams ceased. I watched as Father, Bellatrix and Snape fled the scene, leaving me standing in front of her all alone, the silence returning.
That's when she fell, crumbling to the ground, her body shaking in fear, her breath coming out in strangled gasps.
I ran over to her, sitting down to pull her into my lap. Her veins still pulsed gold, her eyes illuminating. "Look at me baby," I rubbed her cheek with my hand. "Look at my eyes," I said as she looked up at me.
Her breathing softened, becoming less choppy as she stared into my eyes, the glowing stopping as her irises returned to a smooth brown.
She was covered in blood and bruises, yet her angelic eyes remained untouched from the chaos that surrounded us. Then they fluttered shut.
Potter, Granger and Weasley must've heard her screams, because they came rushing down the trail.
"You kill Dumbledore now her, you foul git," Potter screamed as he approached us, tears in his eyes.
"Snape did this, to both of them," I yelled. "Please, I don't care what happened just get her to the hospital wing," I pleaded.
Harry stood in silence as she sat limp in my arms.
"Take her," I yelled.
Harry ran over to me, picking her up in his arms.
"What are you gonna do?" he asked me.
"I don't know, just go," I yelled.
He scurried off, Ron helping to carry her.
"Wait, Granger!" I yelled.
She stopped as I felt around for Caroline's wand under the butterfly bushes. I threw it to Granger, her catching it in her hand. She nodded as they ran up the hill, back towards the castle.
My suit was covered in her blood as I ran off, searching for my Father, but I couldn't find him. My best bet was to apparate back to the Manor.
I stood in front of the gates, grey clouds covering the sky as I walked down the large driveway. Trimmed bushes lined the road, the gardens just beyond them. I approached the dark house, opening the door, walking all the way up to my bedroom.
I showered, changed, then fell asleep in my bed, completely oblivious to the fact that I wouldn't be returning to Hogwarts for the last month, and Caroline wouldn't be returning for seventh year.
I'd left without saying goodbye.
