Chapter 22: Secrets Revealed

That night Hanji didn't sleep much and neither did Eren. After Mikasa left, Eren stayed in a ball on the floor and Hanji curled up on the couch and cried for hours on end. Levi woke up and decided that there was no reason to go to school today and called in. Levi and Armin knew not to intrude and just let them be for a bit. Levi still wondered how Armin is still as clueless as he his. Levi decided to take it upon himself to question Armin and figure out how much he really knew.

Currently Armin was outback on a swing reading a book peacefully. Levi didn't want to interrupt his reading but he needed closure. Levi walked up startling the boy a bit causing the swing to wobble.

"H-hey Levi, what's up?" Armin was fiddling with his fingers while Levi stared down from in front of him.

"How about you tell me Arlert. What do you know? I don't really feel like having small talk." Armin tilted his head to the side in a confused manner and was seemingly lost.

"I have no idea what you're talking about." Armin turned his head to avoid Levi's strong glare.

"So you don't remember anything huh?" Armin pursed his lips in a pout and stood up to walk away before Levi pushed him into the swing. The swing began to wobble and flip the other direction, and Armin who was already unbalanced ended up lying face up on the ground with Levi standing over him.

"Levi you really don't have to do this, I have no idea what you're talking about!" Armin squeaked out. Levi didn't listen to what he had to say. He squatted over the boy and pulled his collar towards his face.

"Well Arlert are ya gonna tell me or am I gonna have to beat it out of you?" Levi drew back and Armin closed his eyes tight waiting for impact but it never came. Instead he heard another voice join in and save the day.

"Levi mother fucking Ackerman what the hell do you think you're doing to him! Do you want to lose that goddamn hand?" Levi turned around to find Eren storming towards them. He slowly stood up and faced the younger. Armin scooted back against the tree where the swing hung and waited for disaster.

"What did you just say brat? Do you wanna lose your teeth?" Eren was right in Levi's face, noses touching. He couldn't believe that Levi was trying to hurt Armin.

"I said leave him alone. Why are you intimidating him?" Levi looked to the blonde that was shaking his head no violently. Levi knew he knew which is why Armin hadn't questioned too much that has happened, but why wouldn't he come out and say it?

"He drank my tea I had in the fridge and he owes me more, right blondie?" Armin started to relax and pull himself back together.

"Yes sir, I'll be getting it now." Armin hurried himself back into the house before anyone would stop him. Levi and Eren were still standing in the backyard when they heard the car take off. Levi wanted to tell him that Armin knew but he wouldn't do that to Eren after everything, the boy just needed a break. He would tell him eventually and then the two could talk it out.

"There's no way that caused you to be so mad. What else did he do?" Levi ignored him like he has been recently. Levi didn't want to speak with Eren because right now he couldn't trust a word he was saying and the boy only confused him more.

"Tch." Levi began to walk away but was turned back around to face the boy when his shoulder was grabbed. Levi didn't like that too much and slapped his hand away.

"What are you not telling me?" Levi didn't give him a second thought and attempted to walk away again. In frustration Eren grabbed his hand and pulled him back in his direction.

Levi had to keep telling himself not to scream the truth so he had to be mean to the kid to get him to go away.
"It's none of your fucking business. Why would I tell you?"
