Clarke reached for her chipped belt, where she kept her knife, finding it empty. Panic ran through her like an Olympic athlete running a marathon."Alicia!" Clarke yelled, worrying that she wouldn't be able to handle the walkers alone. Alicia looked back at Clarke, scrunching her nose up in confusion, before noticing Clarke's hand on her empty belt. Alicia remembered that she had a knife there beforehand, she glanced at Clarke with a calm expression, before looking back at the walkers. Alicia pushed the walker away harshly, before she pulled out her sharpened pipe and stabbed it into the walkers head viciously.
"Clarke it's fine, there's not many of them, just stay back." Alicia then launched herself into action, taking down the next three walkers in seconds. She skilfully avoided the walkers attacks, until she got close enough to take them down. Clarke stood there stunned, carefully admiring the way Alicia's body looked as she moved.
After a minute, five of them were lifelessly led on the ground and only one remained, the walker was younger than the rest. Alicia hesitated, her eyes connected with its lifeless ones and she stood completely still, until it was an inch in front of her. Then only her arm moved, quickly killing the walker. Her chest tightened as the small body hit the floor, she still hadn't gotten used to killing the young walkers, and she didn't think she ever would. Alicia stood still looking down at it for a second, Clarke didn't dare disturb her, then she wiped her pipe on her jeans and looked back at a cautious Clarke.
"There might be more in the house." Alicia stated, ignoring the look in Clarke's worried eyes.
"Do you think that's where these came from?" Clarke asked, walking closer to Alicia until they were face to face. She noticed the tiny beads of sweat that had started to appear on Alicia's forehead, as well as the way her eyes seemed larger than normal and how her body was ready to attack again any minute.
"Yes, but if there is more you'll need a weapon." Alicia pulled something out of her back pocket and placed it in Clarke's hand gently. Alicia looked at Clarke as she felt Clarke's soft hand, as she moved her hand away she noticed the subtle shake. "We'll be fine, I'm no stranger to killing walkers."
Clarke nodded and looked down at her hand, seeing the butterfly knife that Alicia had given her. She slipped her thumb over it softly and looked back at Alicia, suddenly noticing how close she was.
"Thanks." Clarke whispered, sending Alicia a small smile, a smile that she returned.
"Let's go." Alicia replied softly, looking up at the spacious, run down, old house. The paint looked faded, the windows looked grubby and the rest of the house had obviously seen better days. Alicia assumed that the people who lived there had become walkers at the start of the apocalypse, considering the look of them and the house.
Alicia took the lead and Clarke followed behind, trying to concentrate on the situation at hand. However, her mind kept wondering and she would constantly loose her focus, which was unlike her.
She glanced at the house, wondering if anymore walkers were inside, ready to attack them. The walkers somewhat reminded her of the reapers, although she was sure that the walkers couldn't be changed back.
"Is it possible to change the walkers back to people?" Clarke asked curiously, she was almost certain that it wasn't, but she had to ask. Alicia stopped walking and glanced at Clarke like she had two heads, before she answered Clarke's question.
"No, the people are already dead before they become walkers." Clarke nodded in understanding, before they started walking closer to the house once more. Clarke glanced at Alicia, noticing the way her long hair would bounce slightly as she walked, or how her footsteps didn't seem to make a sound.
