She had fallen asleep in the small hallway when a hand touched her shoulder and she flinched, quickly opening her eyes.
"What are you doing here?" George asked her.
She rubbed her sleepy eyes and glanced at Draco's closed door. She couldn't hear anything now.
"I was waiting." She replied turning to George.
He frowned, "For..?"
She nodded towards the door.
"I should have guessed." He sighed. "Is he...okay?"
Hermione slowly shook her head turning her gaze away. "No, but when was he?"
George sat down next to her, his elbows resting on his knees. "Harry told me what happened, he didn't have the time to fully fill me in though, he and Ron had to go to the Ministry."
"They went to the Ministry without me?" Hermione asked in a small shock.
"Would you really want to go?"
She breathed. "Probably not."
"So?"
"What?"
"How is he?" George questioned.
Hermione looked at the door. "I thought he was okay for a while but then...he changed."
"He will always going to change, you know that right?"
She nodded sadly, "I know." She murmured. "He had done it so many times before how couldn't I notice?"
"Because Hermione, he is Malfoy, you expected this behavior coming from him."
"Yes but still. There were so many times that he would be okay, that he would show me that..." She stopped hershelf.
The boy wrapped an arm around her to comfrot her. "I know, believe me I know." He paused and met her gaze. "He loves you, you know that he does. Even if he doesn't say it or if he changes it all the time, he loves you and I don't believe he have felt like this for anyone before."
The girl just stared at him, silently collecting every word. She really wanted to believe George, but she had seen him looking at her with nothing but disgust in his eyes when seconds before he would say that he had feelings for her. She had seen him kissing her like it was the only thing that could keep him alive and suddenly stopping in a shock of realisation.
And she couldn't tell which one was the real one. She so wanted to believe that he was the one that loved her like George said but she couldn't just ignore the fact that Draco Malfoy had always been this jerk, that was the real Draco Malfoy, the one she had met in school, the one that she had hated with all she had inside of her, the one that had called her names countless of times. That was the Draco Malfoy she knew, or at least used to know.
But after so much time that they had spent together these last weeks, she had really seen a changed man, a man capable of doing amazing things. She had seen his worst nightmares, all the things he had went through, she had seen him in pain and it had scared her so much. She had felt him all over her body, realised that they were a perfect match, a perfect disaster.
So who was in fact the real one? Was there even a real one? And if there was what could she do? What did she want to do?
So many unanswered questions. So many ifs.
The door opened then and her thoughts went away in a second. The Slytherin stopped by the doorframe as his eyes caught the two wizards sitting infront of his door.
