𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻 𝗳𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗱𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗽||𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝘂𝗿𝗲

chapter 6

The same time Doyoung and Mashiho heads to the dance club, Hyunsuk,Yoshi, Junkyu, Asahi, Yedam and Haruto also heads to the music club for registration. When they came there, the club adviser told them to take a sit first. Unlike the dance club who made the students line up, the head teacher waited for the room to get occupied.

Hyunsuk told Yoshi about Jihoon because he can’t contain his excitement. Not wanting to spoil the surprise to the others, he kept his voice down while leaning to the younger. Yoshi felt awkward because of how close Hyunsuk is to him. He stared at Hyunsuk’s face, noticing the older’s unique features.

“Yoshi,are you okay?” Hyunsuk asked while waving his hands in front of him. The aforementioned came back in his thoughts and nodded.

“As I was saying, Jihoon is so fun to be with even if he always teases me, mostly because of my height. I’m also thinking about letting him join our group. He could help me in leading all of you. Though he always does silly things, he would be a really great help. I think he’s more suitable to be a leader than I am.”

“Hyung, don’t say that. I like the way you adjusted for us, you really don’t know us but I thank you for letting us be with you, for letting us join your group. I wish I could be like you one day.” Yoshi said while showing his gummy smile, making the older feel better.

Junkyu takes a nap while waiting and Haruto who is in his right made his mind occupied with deep thoughts. Meanwhile, Yedam debates with himself whether to approach Asahi who is beside Haruto or not. He’s already feeling easy with the other guys but he can’t take himself to talk to Asahi since he was afraid he’d give him a cold treatment. Asahi still thinks of what happened yesterday though the expression’s not visible. Yedam ignored the awkward feeling and a friend from the same club passes in front of him. He excused himself to have a talk with him.
The room was slowly getting filled as minutes passed by. The head teacher started with a greeting and explained how students could enter the club.

Hyunsuk wondered why Jihoon is still not there. He made himself believe by thinking that he was just late. Yedam went back to his seat and Haruto woke Junkyu up.

Some students started performing, the head teacher was amazed by the students voices but there were also some who he thinks that their talent won’t do something with music.

Junkyu got nervous since it was about his time to perform. When he got at the front, his hands shaked terribly. Hyunsuk got worried and the guys cheered him up. He started singing Better by Attom. As time went by his singing also got better and better.

“If I didn’t see his face, I’d probably think he’s not Korean.”

“I agree. His English pronunciaton is so clear.”

“He could even join a national contest now.”

Junkyu smiled hearing some of the compliments for him. He finished the song by showing them his clear and stable vocals.
Next to perform is Haruto, who is confident to pass. Girls in the room screamed as he got at the front. The teacher became aware that others who came here, especially girls don’t really have a talent but they are here to see Haruto and to be in the same club with him. ‘Glad we have this performance.’ The head teacher thought. Haruto started and all of them got shocked at how low his voice could get. He rapped Rich Brian’s Dat Stick. The girls screaming for him made them admire him more as he does not only have good looks but amazing talents too. The teacher automatically made him pass but doesn’t want someone to call him biased so he kept quiet.

Asahi performed next singing Perfect by Ed Sheeran. This time, he showed his emotions that could even let anyone who doesn’t know him, read him. He made people in the room fall in love with his honey vocals. His unique voice almost sounded like a lullaby.

Next was the one that the head looks forward to the most, Bang Yedam. The head already knows that Yedam would own the stage. The students were shocked when they found out that he’ll perform his own song, Black Swan. Everyone moved to the beat and the head gave him a compliment after singing.

Yoshi then came to the front looking confident but the truth is, his heart was rumbling. He set aside his thoughts from earlier and sighed for the last time. He rapped Zico’s Fanxy Child perfectly. He spitted fire with his performance, his voice was not too low nor too high, untypical from rappers you’ve heard. He finished it perfectly, even the students didn’t thought he could rap like that because they thought he’ll be singing because of his cute face.

Hyunsuk was the last from their group to perform. He performed Go Yard which he composed also. The song has the swag vibe and you could tell you could enjoy it just by hearing the intro. He has his own rap style, he could even pronounce English words easily.

Two more rows were left to perform. Time passed by as they watch other students perform but Jihoon still doesn’t appear. There were only two students who hasn’t performed.  Hyunsuk can’t stay still and Yoshi also got alerted by his actions.

“Hyung, why are you-”Yoshi didn’t finish his question when he saw how the older’s eyes lit up. He laid his eyes on the doorway and saw two students entering the room. One has a small face and seems like he smiles a lot. He is dragging the tanned skin boy who looks so innocent. Yoshi layed his eyes back onto Hyunsuk and the bright smile was still visible on his face. ‘That smiling guy must be Jihoon.’ Yoshinori thought.

Yedam got surprised seeing Jihoon inside the room. He immediately woke Junkyu up who was asleep. Yedam couldn’t believe it and let his tears fall over his face. He messaged Doyoung about the news right away. Junkyu also got surprised, he couldn’t hide his smile. He wanted to hug Jihoon badly and scream at him for coming back just this time. Hyunsuk saw their reactions and let out a small laugh.

Unlike Yoshinori who had a clue on what’s happening, Asahi stared at them weirdly while Haruto got confused but they got back to their senses and continued in watching the performance.

Jihoon waited for the last one to finish performing to tell the head of the club that he and his brother will also sign up for registration. The head teacher wasted no time and told Jihoon to start performing. Jihoon performed Pay My Rent by DNCE. His voice was so manly and his old friends could tell how much he improved in singing. He always had a good voice but he showed more progress now.

Last one to perform was the nervous guy next to Jihoon, his younger brother Park Jeongwoo. You could not tell they would be siblings if you look at them. It’s because they were only half brothers. Jeongwoo’s mother was the wife. She got pregnant with their first child who was older than Jihoon by 4 years. Jeongwoo’s dad cheated on his mother and that's how Jihoon was born, but Jeongwoo’s mom forgave him because people deserve a second chance and she also supported Jihoon because she’s being realistic. Jihoon’s mom got herself a husband who loved Jihoon like he’s his own son. Jeongwoo was younger than Jihoon for 4 years also.

Jihoon cheered for his brother who is now ready to perform. The first beat of Adele’s When We Were Young echoed through the room. Jeongwoo closes his eyes before he could even sing to feel the song. As he started, you could hear the students various ‘whoas’ and ‘wow’s. Everyone feels like they could get hypnotized just by hearing his voice, it’s just too full of emotions. The ones who were talking suddenly stopped and gave full attention to his performance. Yedam thought that his voice was one of the best voices he heard today. Haruto’s heart suddenly started beating rapidly and time seemed to stop, noticing that it’s the same voice. It’s the exact voice he heard at the hallway, same song too. He couldn’t believe he could find the owner of the voice without even making an effort, and he’s even one of his classmates that's from Iksan. He automatically smiled hearing his voice again but quickly changed his expression when he saw Asahi look at his way. He finished performing and the students gave him a round of applause and even compliments.

At this time, what Haruto wants is just to hear more of his voice.
