chapter 11

"Jaehyuk, don't leave yet. I'd like you to meet my friends. They must be waiting at the private place now. Let's hurry up." Mashiho grabbed Jaehyuk's hand and dragged him without letting Jaehyuk agree. He already told the guys that he'd like them to meet Jaehyuk and he wanted to speak to Hyunsuk if he can let Jaehyuk join their group. What makes him think Jaehyuk to be a part of the group is because he saw his potential and he sense that he's a perfect member for them, more than enough to pass the members' standards.

For now, he wants them to see how a good friend Jaehyuk is. They reached the entrance of the private place and Mashiho opened the door, still holding Jaehyuk's hand.

"Mashi hyung, you're late. What took yo-, oohh!"

"I brought Jaehyuk with me now. Sorry for being late." Junkyu cannot take his eyes off from Mashiho's hand holding Jaehyuk's. He felt a slight sting on his chest and turned his eyes away.

Jaehyuk was looking so small behind Mashiho though he's taller because of the timid look on his face.

"Guys, this is Yoon Jaehyuk, Asahi's and my classmate, and also one of my closest friends." Mashiho did not hesitate to add to his definition of Jaehyuk the 'closest friend' part because that's what is true. For a short time, both of them got close to each other. Gradually getting close with conversations full of Mashiho comforting Jaehyuk. Jaehyuk added a 'hi' which earned a small giggle from Mashi of how the way his friend acted. Asahi who was listening to the convo the whole time didn't even effort to spare a glance at them.

Yoshi eyed how his cousin acted and he knew that even if he looks uninterested, his ears are listening fully on their conversation.

"Is Hyunsuk hyung upstairs? I'd like to talk to him." Yedam answered with a nod and Jaehyuk was dragged again upstairs by Mashiho. They are at the front of the door where Hyunsuk usually stays at when he's in their private place. Mashiho was about to open the door when Jaehyuk pulled him back.

"Mashi! What are you going to do?"

"Jaehyukie, my dear friend, just trust me on this one, okay?" Jaehyuk had nothing to do and just nodded.

"Hyung!" Hyunsuk's attention averted to the two guys that entered the room.

"Mashi, what is it? Oh, hi!" Hyunsuk waved cutely as he saw Jaehyuk.

"Hyunsuk hyung, this is Jaehyuk, the friend that I always tell you about."

"Pleasure meeting you Jaehyuk. Mashiho always talked about how good you are at dancing."

"He is hyung, really, in just a short time, I taught him one of the dance choreographies I learned before and he memorized it. That's why I'm here hyung, I'm asking for a consent if you could maybe let him in our group?"

"Well, I'll decide not just on my own, we need the other members to agree too. Jaehyuk, do you have something that you prepared?"

"Yes hyung, he can perform right away." Mashijo answered instead and whispered to Jaehyuk.

"Jaehyuk just say yes, I'll be very happy if we're in the same group. My members are really friendly though they get silly sometimes, well most times. Hyunsuk hyung also looks into the talents, not looks, though all members are really handsome."

"Yeah, hyung. I'll perform." Jaehyuk answered without hesitation after what Mashiho assured him.

All 12 boys are in the living room of the private place. 11 boys are watching Jaehyuk dance professionally, Asahi who seems uninterested is surprisingly watching him dance too. Hyunsuk could tell that he could truly pass his standards. Jaehyuk finished his dance earning a round of applause from them.

"Hyung, you're really good at dancing. I wish I could learn from you. How long have you been dancing hyung?"

"Guys, you won't believe if I tell you." Mashiho once again starts braging about his friend.

"He just learned dancing after he entered in this school. Just last school year."

"Really?!?"

"Why are you so good, hyung?" Jaehyuk earned a lot of compliments especially from the maknae line while he earned a thumbs up from Mashiho. Jaehyuk teared up a bit because it's the first time he heard such compliments.

"Jaehyuk, we want to hear from you first, why you wanted to join our group." Jaehyuk sat up in front of them and reminisced some memories.

"I was in the middle of giving up of joining a group when Mashiho became my friend. People would usually let me join their groups just because of my looks, not looking at what I possess, that's why I rejected their offer because I want someone to see what I have, that it's not just about my face that would make them recognize me. I don't believe that I'm that handsome but people always compliments my looks. It would be the greatest thing I could achieve if someone would see my potential. I'm willing to prove anything just to let them know that. I did not really expect Mashi to do this, he just tells me always that everything will be okay, I didn't know he will do this tho. This might be my last chance to join a group, accepted or not, I'm still thankful for Mashi for not giving up on me and trying his best for me." Asahi who was listening silently felt something inside of him crack. He doesn't know what it is but it made him forget his anger to Jaehyuk for a moment. He looked up at him and saw his teary eyes.

Hyunsuk could also saw the eyes of his members' getting teary because of Jaehyuk's story, for they all have been there, at some point.

"Jaehyuk, are you willing to love not just dancing, but also music? You know, singing."

"Of course, hyung. I could play a musical instrument too, someone taught me but I didn't really master it." Hyunsuk took it as a sign to let Jaehyuk into their group, not consulting the other members because he can see in their eyes that they already accepted him.

"Shall we make it official? Jaehyuk, welcome to the group!" Jaehyuk who can't hold back his tears, hugged Hyunsuk as he heard the confirmation. Yedam who was always the emotional one, also cried, clinging to Doyoung's arms. The rest clapped their hands except Asahi who had many questions going in his mind and praying to God not to have any possible interactions with Jaehyuk, but seems too impossible since they now belong to one group.

"Jaehyuk, if you'd like to, you could move in with us. All of us live together and the place is like...30 minutes away from school."

"Okay hyung, I'll consult my parents first. Thank you Mashi, I'll never waste this opportunity and I'll do my best."
