Five's POV
I didn't even have time to respond. One moment I'm running to help gather my siblings and the next I'm watching her face the end of the world alone.
I know what love is. I've felt it everyday for my family while trying to get them back together. But I never imagined feeling my heart physically break into two as I watch the girl I love possibly take her last steps.
She promised me it wouldn't end up like the film. But I know she just said what I wanted to hear. To keep me happy. I know that if she needs to, she will give her life to save the rest of ours. Knowing that and standing here with nothing to do but watch makes me feel utterly and hopelessly defeated.
I refuse to accept that I've held her for the last time. She'll be fine. She has to be fine.
"Five what the hell is she doing?" Allison screams while banging on whatever substance is surrounding us like a forcefield.
"Did you know she was going to do this?" Diego asks angrily. I ponder on how to respond for a moment.
"She said it would be different. I didn't think she would actually go through with it."
"Well you saw the footage, what happens after?" Klaus asks frantically looking back between Tessa and I.
"It won't be like the footage," I snap firmly causing him to take a step back.
I don't know if my hard tone was to convince Klaus or myself.
I watch as Luther steps forward to say something but a large beam of light from outside catches our attention. Our heads immediately whip around to catch any events unfolding and to keep our eyes trained on the girl we've come to love.
The similarity to the footage is almost identical sending a shiver down my spine. We watch as beams of light shoot out of her and begin making their way towards the Handler and her prodigy. But something is off, something just different enough to catch my attention.
The color. In the footage her forces were a light purple aura that I had never seen before. But now, they're a color that rings the bell of familiarity in my head, a shade that I've only once...
"It's blue?" Diego says in confusion as we stop trying to get out and just watch her.
"Doesn't that look like when...?"
"Yep."
"So do you think...?"
"I don't know."
Allison and Luther say what we are all thinking.
"Ben?" Klaus asks looking around for any sign of the ghost. He looks at us and shakes his head.
"He's not here," Klaus says as his eyes widen as we watch what we thought were Tessa's strands of light, slowly morph into the bioluminescent blue tentacles that made a special appearence during the first end of the world party.
Our question gets answered soon after. Tessa's body begins shaking as an invisible force seems to be leaning her to the right. Well, what we thought was an invisible force.
"That son of a bitch," Klaus says with a grin wider than ever as he registers what's happening before the rest of us.
The blue aura that surrounds her begins taking another form as a second figure seems to be ripping itself away from Tessa.
"Oh my god they're doing it!"
Tessa's head pulls back as the tentacles erupt from within her body with such force that they almost knock her over. They reach out and grab the Handler and her daughter around their throats, hoisting them into the air. I feel a sense of euphoria as I watch them both kick helplessly while trying to pry the pressure away from their necks.
