Mehdi woke up in a great mood that morning. The sun was shining through the balcony doors, emitting a prism from the crystal windows.

He looked over at his clock, which read 10:37 am. Luckily it was a Saturday, or else he would get a whooping for sleeping in late. Saturdays were the only days the prince had off. The rest were for preparing and studying.

As the prince finished getting ready for the day, there was a knock at the door. Strange, he thought to himself as he finished buttoning up his plain white dress shirt. He walked over to the door, expecting it to be his mother to tell him to get his ass out of bed because it was quarter to eleven, but when he opened the door, he was met with the princess standing in front of him. Before he could say good morning, she abruptly pushed him back into his room and shut the door behind her. (Now if you were in the hall and saw that it would look like the princess was eager to be alone with the prince if you know what I mean). Mehdi was not expecting to be pushed and lost his balance, almost tripping over his own feet.

Just as he was gaining his balance, Reyan blurted out, "So, you and Theo?"

Mehdi looked at her carefully. "What about?"

"Oh, you know, just the date at two in the morning. Nothing important."

"How...? How did you know about that?" Mehdi asked, bewildered.

"I swear the whole palace heard you." Mehdi looked at her with alarm. Reyan laughed, "I'm just kidding. I couldn't sleep, so I decided to read instead," she explained. "And I may or may not have eavesdropped on your conversation," she added slowly.

"Wow, thanks. It's not like I don't get enough attention anyways," Mehdi muttered sarcastically. "Also, it wasn't a date," he added.

"Oh, so you just, I don't know, talked for a whole hour?"

"No...I couldn't sleep, so I decided to take a walk around the castle, and when I opened my door he was standing guard right there," the prince explained, gesturing to the door. Reyan eyed the prince, crossing her arms across her chest, searching for a lie. Mehdi stared back with less intensity, feeling very vulnerable under the princess's gaze.

"You don't believe me, do you?" Mehdi asked.

"Did anything else happen?" Reyan asked, ignoring the prince. She was curious. She wanted to know everything.

"Well, there may have been some... kissing involved," Mehdi told, his cheeks getting rosy from replaying the memory.

The princess's face lit up like a flame. "I knew it! I knew there were other things!" she yelled out excitedly.

The prince continued to get all flustered and moved to his bed, trying to calm his flaming face. He flopped down and sat on the edge. Reyan sensed his discomfort and shut upped. She strutted over to Mehdi and sat down next to him.

"What? Was it bad?" she asked.

Mehdi fell back onto his bed and combed a hand through his hair. "No," he sighed. "It was really amazing." He smiled.

Reyan turned to look at him, and seeing the prince absolutely besotted, made her miss the love she left back at home. She knew she would see him again one day, but today was not that day.

She turned her full attention back to the prince and spoke. "How did it come upon?"

Mehdi twisted his neck to focus on her. "We were just talking and we slowly started leaning towards each other. Eventually, that gap closed."

Reyan was beaming. She couldn't handle the cuteness of that situation and let out a little squeak, making Mehdi look at her funny.

"What? You two are so cute, you don't even know it," she exclaimed.
