Waverly finally decided on what she was gonna wear. She chose a pair of dark, acid washed low rise blue jeans and a white muscle tee. She quickly threw on her white Reebok high tops and grabbed her denim jacket. She ran the straightener through her hair once more and checked the clock. 11:30. Nicole would be here in less than thirty minutes to pick her up. They were meeting the band at Nicole and Nathan's house at noon for band rehearsal.  She couldn't lie to herself. She felt a bit privileged to know that she got to see what goes on behind the scene of her new favorite band!
She ran downstairs to grab a snack while she waited and found Wynonna rummaging through the refrigerator. "We don't have shit to eat dude." Her sister said, slamming the fridge door. Waverly rolled her eyes. "Actually we do, but you just refuse to cook." She told her as she opened the cabinet above the stove and pulled out some chips. She opened the bag and sat them in the middle of the table so she could share with her sister. "When did we get these?" Wynonna asked, immediately sitting down and grabbing a handful. "I went shopping the other day, remember?" The younger sibling replied, mimicking her sister's actions and grabbing a handful. "Oh..."  the older brunette replied, clearly forgetting that she had driven Waverly to the store that Wednesday.
Wynonna looked at Waverly. "Why are you dressed so sharp today? You got plans or somethin?" She asked, looking at the outfit her sister had put together. She ducked her head under the table and noticed the shoes. "You definitely have plans if you're gonna risk getting those babies dirty." She said referring to the Reeboks that she hardly ever saw the smaller girl wear.
"If you must know, I have plans with Nicole today." Waverly beamed at Wynonna's shocked expression. "I'm gonna spend the day at her house and we're gonna hang out for a while, so don't wait up."
Wynonna was still in shock. "What the hell dude? How is that you, the chick who doesn't even like rock music, gets to hang out with the band?"  Waverly gave her sister a smirk. "Because I," she replied, "liked who she was before I even knew she was famous. I think she respects that about me. Plus I'm not a friggin groupie.  Maybe next time you can come with?" Her sister's face lit up with that possibility and she laughed. "Well shit. Just put in a good word for me with that brother she's got. He's fiiiiiiiiine." She replied as she got up from the table.
They both heard a vehicle pull in to the gravel drive way and Waverly looked at her watch. She smiled. Nicole was early and she didn't really understand why but that made her super happy. There was a knock at the door and she got up to answer it, with her older sister right on her heels.
"Hey!" She said when she opened the door. And there was Nicole... In a tiny black T shirt... with her abs poking out as the shirt was technically riding up her stomach. "Fuuuuuuuck" she said, and immediately blushed realizing that she'd said it out loud. Nicole laughed and ran a hand through her  fiery locks. "Not so bad yourself Waves," she said and noticed Waverly's shoes. "Nice kicks by the way!"
They both seemed to be staring a little too hard at each other's bodies because Wynonna cleared her throat. "Are you two just gonna keep eye fucking in front of me or what?" Both Waverly and Nicole blushed this time and the smaller girl punched her sister in her arm. "Dude... shut up! And we're not!" Waverly turned to grab her tiny backpack off the hook. "I'll be home later Wy," she said kissing her sister on the cheek. "Maybe you can stop being an ass by then?" Wynonna smiled at her baby sister as she watched her  climb into Nicole's jacked up black Dodge Ram. "Nah, I don't think I will! Have fun anyway! Love you Tiny Earp!!!!" She yelled as she shut shut the door.

As they pulled out the drive way, Waverly noticed that Nicole was staring again. "Watch the road, Haught." She instructed with a giggle. Nicole immediately directed her attention back to the road ahead of them but had a smile on her face.
"So you said rock music wasn't typically your thing. What do you like to listen to?" The redhead asked. Waverly shrugged. "I listen to a lot of stuff really, but I mainly like club/dance music and country." She replied. "Why do you ask?"
Nicole reached down under the seat and pulled out what looked like a cooler. She plopped it on the seat between them and gestured for the other girl to open it. When she did, Waverly let out a gasp. There were like at least a hundred cassette tapes in there. Her eyes lit up like Christmas as she started rummaging through them.
"Holy shit Cole! This is awesome!" Nicole laughed. "Well pick whatever you like. I like all of those tapes so there's nothing in there that I won't listen to." Waverly grinned and switched places with the box of tapes so she could sit in front of the stereo. It was only a bonus that she was sitting so close to Nicole with the gear shift between her legs. Ya know, the one that she knew the driver would have to shift pretty regularly. That's what she told herself anyways.
She settled on a TLC tape and put it into the tape player. Waterfalls came on first and she about lost it. Nicole thought she might die from the cuteness that was Waverly Earp singing right next to her. She almost forgot to watch the road again. Instead, she just sang along with her the entire ride back to her house.
By the time they pulled in, they had listened to three more tracks and honestly neither one of them thought they had been in that truck longer than 5 mins. Waverly was almost too sad to get out of the truck. She was really enjoying being alone with the redhead... and then she saw the house.
