When they got back from their adventure, they found Nathan and Wynonna having breakfast. Little packs of donuts of course, but they were chatting it up.
"Look who's finally awake?" Nicole said, looking at the two of them. She looked at the time on her watch. "It's like one in the afternoon!" Wynonna rolled her eyes, as did her brother. "We woke up at ten, thank you. You two on the other hand, have been gone for like at least three hours. Where were you?" Wynonna asked, looking at Waverly with a smirk. Waverly looked at Nicole who was looking rather flushed in the face and laughed.
"If you must know, we went on a hike. Nicole showed me a treehouse and we went up and checked it out!"
Nicole let out a sigh of relief. You never knew with these Earp sisters what exactly would be said. They both enjoyed getting under each other's skin, and Waverly Earp was no exception to this game. She half thought she was gonna tell the older girl just what they had done in the treehouse. Tiny miracles, she supposed.
Waverly pulled herself into Nicole's side and held tight, tucking her head under taller woman's chin. "What were you two doing if you've been up so long?" She asked her sister.
Wynonna shrugged before replying casually "We were fucking."
Nathan spit out the coffee he'd just taken a sip of and his face got redder than his hair. He looked at Nicole with what must be genetic deer in the headlights eyes, who was looking at him with her brow cocked. "No we weren't! Wynonna's just trying to be an asshole!" He picked up a donut and chunked it at his friend. "Shut up Wynonna. She's gonna kill us both! And over nothing." He put his hands on his face as Wynonna began laughing. Waverly looked at Nicole who was glaring at both of them before looking back at Wynonna. "It's okay Nonna. While you guys were pretending to have sex, we were actually doing it."
Wynonna immediately stopped laughing and Nathan peaked through his fingers to look at his sister and her girlfriend. Now Nicole was red faced and Waverly had a devilish smirk on her face, staring at Waverly with her jaw dropped. "Waves!" She yelled. "What the hell?" Waverly giggled a little before leaning up on her toes. "Love you baby!" She squealed, then took off running towards the tent, leaving Nicole there to deal with the aftermath.
"Um..." Nicole said, not really knowing what to say. Wynonna was giving her the are you fucking kidding me look. "How often do you plan to defile my baby sister?" Wynonna asked. Nicole looked down at her boots. "Honestly I wouldn't call it defiling, Wy." She said, kicking at the dirt. "I really love her you know? She makes everything about my like infinitely better. Even waking up feels like a good thing." Nathan looked at his friend. "She's not lying. Cole isn't near as much of a bitch since Waverly has been around." Nicole punched her brother in the arm. "Fuck off Nate!" She told him and looked back at her girlfriends sister. "And to answer your question, I'd like to say for the rest of my life."
Wynonna's mouth hung open for a minute. "Wait, wait, wait... Are you gonna ask her to marry you Haughtshit?" Nicole smiled softly. "Not right now, now. It'll probably be a while still, but I've known from the moment I saw her that day at school that I was gonna do everything I could for that girl. I knew she was the one. As long as she'll have me, I'll be here."
Wynonna rubbed her temples and Nathan spoke. "Well... You have my support sis. I see what she does to you. She's a great girl. Hell, she's taken care of all of us at least once, myself included. She's a keeper." He looked at Wynonna to see what she would say. "I suppose Nicole would be a major step up from all the shit people she's been with. And I think you are good for her too. You're already family. Take your time with it, but when you're ready to propose I'd like to be there."
Nicole beamed. "You know it dude. I wouldn't have it any other way." She looked at the older Earp and smiled. "By the way, you just called me Nicole to my face. I don't think you've ever done that." And with that said, she walked off to find out what kind of mischief the love of her life was up to.

"Hey Love." Waverly said when she saw Nicole walking up to the back of the truck. She had made a little make shift pallet in the bed and was laying down. Nicole hopped up on the tailgate and climbed in next to her, letting her snuggle up into her side like she always did. She grabbed her hand and kissed it gently.
"What ya doin' baby?"she asked. Waverly turned her head to look at her, pulling her shades off her face so she could see her better. "I'm making shapes out of clouds!" She stayed proudly. Nicole laughed. That's one of the things she knew she could never grow tired of. Her girlfriend's ability to stay young at heart was one of her favorite things about her. She loved her for it.  "Mind if I join you?" She asked, laying back and not waiting for a reply. She already knew the answer. "Of course not," Waverly said, taking Nicole's hand. "It'll be even better if you're here with me."
Nicole smiled and looked to the sky. There were quite a lot of clouds in the sky today. Plenty of different shapes and sizes to choose from. "What have you seen so far?" She asked, not turning away from the clouds.  Waverly placed her finger to her chin as she thought. "Well... I've seen a butterfly, a bird, a horse, and your truck." Nicole scoffed. "My truck? Really Waves?" She asked with a snort. Waverly playfully smacked her arm. "Yes your truck, Nicole." She snuggled in a little tighter and pointed to a set of particular clouds to the East making their way west. "And there is a heart!" She turned to face Nicole. "I'd say it's mine, but you've already got it."
Nicole turned to face the smaller girl, who was now looking at her like she walked on water. Hazel eyes practically glowing at this point. My God, is she beautiful, she thought to herself. Watching the smile form on her face, she leaned in and kissed her. Gently of course, as this was an act of love, not lust.
Waverly returned the kiss obviously. Nicole's were probably the softest thing she'd ever felt in her life, and that includes her favorite blue fuzzy blanket. She reached her hands up to softly cup her lover's face. She loved this woman. She knew she did. Hell, even Nicole knew she did. But she still couldn't help feeling like she didn't know just how much. Her heart felt like it could explode anytime the woman looked at her or opened that beautiful mouth of hers. She knew she was doomed from the second she spotted her at the locker, cursing at the ancient piece of equipment that Waverly herself had used the year before. There was only one person in the entire universe for her, and that was Nicole Fucking Haught.
Just then, there was a clearing of  a throat and they felt the truck door open from behind them. "Sorry to interrupt lovebirds! I'm just looking for something." Wynonna said, rummaging through the front of the truck. "Sure you are," Waverly said, rolling her eyes. She sat up and peeked over the bed of the truck, Nicole following suit. "What are you looking for?" She asked. Suddenly the noise ceased and Wynonna stuck her head out of the truck to look at them.  "Doesn't matter now," she stated w it h a smile on her face. "I found something better!"
Waverly and Nicole both gave her a confused look until she put out her hand for them to see. "Just so you know Baby Girl," she said looking at her baby sister. "I'm not as dumb as you think. Besides, pretty sure this was my shit anyway." Wynonna put the rest of the joint that the other two had shared earlier that morning in her mouth and lit it. "If it ain't, it's mine now!" And she took off walking back to camp. "Hey Ginger Boi! I got something for us!!!" Wynonna yelled and Nicole just rolled her eyes. "Guess I didn't hide it well enough. Sorry babe."  Waverly gave her a quick kiss on the nose. "It's fine Honey." She replied with a devilish grin and a wink. "I've got more."
