Chapter 13: It hurts me

Jin couldn't help but feel bad for his younger brother, who was silent during the ride. Taehyung seemed to be miserable today compared to the other days.

"Taehyung, baby, are you sad?" Jin asked, glancing a bit at Taehyung while he was driving.

The younger boy didn't respond, which made Jin pitied him. He heard him sob, Jin drove his car to the side of the road and stopped there for a moment. He looked at Taehyung who was crying with his head low and tears falling from his lap.

"It's okay, Taehyung, you'll be fine." Jin attempted to comfort him.

"H-he has a fiancé, Hyung, I-I don't know why, but it hurts me." Taehyung admitted while crying.

"Taehyung, Jungkook loves you, but the problem is, he can't be with you. You see, someone like Jungkook had to get married to someone who's on the same status as him. Jungkook had to keep the powerful image of his parents, that's why he will marry someone whether he loves them or not because that's what he's destined for." Jin stated, holding Taehyung's fisted hands.

"So, does that mean I don't have a chance to Jungkook? Even though I like him too?" Taehyung asked, nibbling his bottom lip.

"That's right, Taehyung, his parents were greedy when it comes to money. Since they are very successful people, they won't let anything ruin their success. It's better if you distance yourself from him because once they find out about you, I'm sure they will get rid of you. And I don't want that to happen, Taehyung, so please, listen to Hyung, okay?" Jin told him.

Taehyung looked at him and nodded his head with tears falling from his eyes.

"I'm sorry, baby, Hyung can't do anything for you. It's your first time to admire someone, yet it already hurts you. Don't worry, I'm sure you will someone who will make you happy." Jin smiled faintly.

Taehyung hugged him and cried on his chest. Even though Jin liked Jungkook for Taehyung, he would rather not put his brother's life in danger again. What Taehyung experienced back then was enough. Taehyung had already forgotten that painful event in his life. He shouldn't suffer anymore, that's what Jin promised himself to protect his brother, no matter what happened.

"What are you doing here?" Jeonho asked while he was in his office, in his house.

"Why did you do that?" Jungkook responded, gritting his teeth.

"Did what?" Jeonho inquired, looking at him.

"Spread that stupid wedding news about me?! I didn't even agree on anything!" Jungkook slammed his father's desk.

"What are you mad about? It's not even fake news." Jeonho responded.

"I'm not going to marry anyone, I will marry someone of my choice, not yours." Jungkook retorted.

"Marry someone of your choice? Do you really think you can do that? Your fate was already destined in my hands. You are my son, I'm the one who took care of you, so you must obey whatever I'm going to say to you." Jeonho stated.

"You're right, I'm your son, but not your puppet. I already did what you wanted, didn't I? I kept having a good straight A+ just to make you proud of me. What else do you want me to do, hah?! Why don't you just let me decide on my own? I'm not a kid anymore!" Jungkook argued.

"Proud of you? I have never been proud of you. You kept failing me, Jungkook. Without my surname in your name, you will be trash. The only thing you will make me proud of you is doing this wedding I set up for you." Jeonho replied.

"I don't want to marry someone I don't even know. I don't care whether you are proud of me or not, but I won't do what you want." Jungkook said, turning around to leave.

"Why? Is that because of Kim Taehyung?"

Jungkook halts when he heard Taehyung's name from his father's mouth. How? How did he know him? Since when did he know about Taehyung?

"So, I'm right, that's because of him." Jeonho said, standing up from his seat.

He walked beside Jungkook and put his hand on top of Jungkook's shoulder.

"Do you really think you can hide that boy from me? Are you perhaps trying to follow what your brother did back then? Do you want to lose him like what happened to his girlfriend, Jungkook?" Jeonho told him with a threatening voice.

"Don't do anything to Taehyung!" Jungkook snarled, glaring at his father.

"But you are behaving like this, son. I think it's better if I get rid of him. Don't you think so?" Jeonho smirked.

"Don't! Don't ever touch him! He didn't do anything wrong! Leave him alone!" Jungkook yelled even though he was trembling.

"I will let him live, but you have to promise that you will cut whatever your relationship with him. That's the only thing you can do for me to stop from killing him. But if you keep behaving like this, expect to see him dead the next day." Jeonho grinned.

Jungkook fell to his knees, accepting his defeat.

"P-please, don't do anything to him. I-I will do everything you wanted me to do, but please, leave him be." Jungkook pleaded.

"That's the response I've been waiting for you to do, Jungkook. I knew it, you are smart, you will listen to me." Jeonho chuckled.

Jungkook's hands were balled in a fist while listening to his father's chuckles. He felt shame right now, but he had to do it just to protect Taehyung.

"Taehyung, where are you going this late at night?" Jin asked when he saw Taehyung go out of his room.

"Uh, I'll just go for a walk for a bit, I need some fresh air." Taehyung uttered.

"Okay, make sure don't go away." Jin told him.

"Alright, thank you, Hyung." Taehyung smiled.

He went out of the house to go outside, he was just walking not so far from the house when he saw a familiar person standing in front of him.
