Chapter 16: Go back

Jungkook was whispering sweet nothing in order to comfort him. Taehyung was still shaking after the incident. He didn't expect he will get locked in the restroom. Why do unlucky events keep happening in his life?

“It's okay, everything is okay now, please calm down, hm.” Jungkook told Taehyung while caressing his hair.

“I-I wanna go home, please take me back to Jin Hyung, I don't wanna stay here anymore.” Taehyung sobbed on Jungkook's shoulder.

“Okay, we're going home now. Wipe off your tears, they might notice that you are crying.” Jungkook said, pulling away from the hug.

Taehyung nodded his head and wiped off his tears.

“Here, wear it, it's cold outside, and you might get cold.” Jungkook removes his black coat and puts it on Taehyung's shoulder.

“Thank you.” Taehyung thanked him without looking at him.

He felt a hand hold his right hand, he looked at it up to Jungkook's face.

“Let's go then.” Jungkook said, softly squeezing Taehyung's hand.

Taehyung hums in response, and Jungkook started to drag him away from the restroom.

“Jungkook, finally I found you. I was looking for you, where have you gone?” Yun Seong appeared in front of them once they were in the Hotel hall.

“I went to the restroom and I bumped into a friend of mine. He told me to help him bring him back to his house since he got uncomfortable at this party. I'm going to drive him home.” Jungkook responded to his fiancé.

Yun Seong couldn't properly see Taehyung's face because he was looking. She's almost their height but since she's wearing high heels, she's a bit taller than them.

“Oh, then you're not going to continue this party?” Yun Seong asked.

“I guess so, I'm sorry I can't accompany you tonight. Should I call your driver to pick you up?” Jungkook retorted.

“No, it's okay, I'll do it. You should probably go now. Thank you for your concern.” Yun Seong replied.

“Alright, we'll get going now.” Jungkook smiled at her and walked away with Taehyung.

“Oh, where is Jungkook going? The party isn't done yet, besides, he just arrived.” Ashley also appeared beside Yun Seong.

“He said he's going to drive his friend to his home. It seemed something happened to his friend and he was just lending his hand to a friend.” Yun Seong told her.

“I guess Taehyung got uncomfortable now, after all, he's introverted.” Ashley muttered.

“That guy's name is Taehyung?” Yun Seong asked.

“Yeah, he didn't tell you? They were so close that sometimes you will misunderstand their relationship. After all, Jungkook's attitude towards Taehyung was different from others. And they were always together as if they're attached to their hips.” Ashley chuckled.

“So, that is Taehyung they've been telling me.”

Yun Seong mumbled, she drank the champagne and grinned.

“They look good together, don't you think so?” Yun Seong smiled.

“Huh? Why are you saying something like that?” Ashley was shocked to hear that.

“Why? Is that wrong now to tell the truth?” Yun Seong giggled.

“Well, it's just weird, you are Jungkook's fiancé.” Ashley retorted.

“I might be his fiancé in everyone's eyes, but his heart will never be going to belong to me.” Yun Seong said.

“But you two are going to get married soon, right?” Ashley asked.

“What's the purpose of marriage if there's no love? After all, it's just a useless contract between us.” Yun Seong said, shaking the champagne.

“Aren't you appalled by this situation?” Ashley inquired, looking at her.

“I and Jungkook are in the same boat, we can't decide on our own. The only thing different between us was the reason we agreed on this marriage thing. I had to stay with my parents until I become the successor, but Jungkook… had to do this to protect the person he loves. I would rather want to understand him than to get dismayed.” Yun Seong stated the details of the marriage.

“Wow, what a horrible situation. Jungkook must be in a tight situation at such a young age.” Ashley sighed after knowing the truth.

Taehyung and Jungkook arrived at the parking lot, but Taehyung suddenly stopped walking.

“What's wrong? Are you okay?” Jungkook asked.

“You should've stayed with her, than drive me back home.” Taehyung spoke, looking at Jungkook.

“It's okay, she already knew about it. You don't have to worry about her.” Jungkook replied.

“Still, she's your fiancé, it's disrespectful to leave her alone like that. You should go back to her, I'll be fine alone.” Taehyung told Jungkook.

“No, it's already dark, it's better if I drive you home. You don't have t---”

“Please, just leave me alone. I know I'm the one who said to you to bring me home, but I'm okay now, so please go back there.” Taehyung turned around to leave.

Here goes the same thing again, Taehyung being distant from him. He's so near to him, but why does it feel like he was far?

“Fine, if that's what you want, but please make sure to go back home safe, okay? I'll get going now.”

Jungkook turned around too to go back to the Hotel revenue. Taehyung bit his bottom lip, his hands were balled in a fist while preventing himself from crying.

Why does it hurt him? Why does it hurt that Jungkook didn't stop him? Why didn't Jungkook follow him?

He turned around to look at Jungkook, who was walking away from him. He wanted to run to him and be in his arms, but he couldn't do it.

Was love always hurt like this?

It's too much for him to handle it, his weak and poor heart can't handle the pain that is caused by love.

Why does his heart beat only for Jungkook?

Why did he even fall in love with him?

He should have prevented it from happening, so he wouldn't have felt this kind of pain. He wiped off his tears and went in the opposite direction of Jungkook.

Maybe, it's better to forget everything so at least, his heart would be able to heal.
