Chapter 18: Hyungie

Jungkook decided to call Jin because he didn't know how to calm Taehyung down. Besides, Taehyung kept mentioning Jin, that's why he thought Jin might be the only one who could help Taehyung right now.

“Jungkook” Jin finally arrived at the alley where they were.

He looked at Taehyung, who was still on the wall.

“Taehyung” He immediately knelt down in front of Taehyung and cupped his cheeks.

“Hyungie” Taehyung sobbed, looking at him.

Jin already realized that Taehyung was in his little headspace. This time, he was sure it was extreme because Taehyung usually won't cry when he's in his little headspace.

“What's wrong, baby? Why are you crying?” Jin softy asked the little Taehyung or most likely known as Taetae.

“H-hyungie, a-are you okay?” Taehyung asked him, sniffling.

In Taehyung's little world, his brain was stuck in the event where Jin was always got beaten up by their 'father'. Taehyung has little because he wished to stay as a kid back then where his father and mother would lovingly take care of him and even spoiled him.

He set in his mind that he wanted to be a kid, he didn't want to grow up, so his father would love him, instead of hurt him. But since his body is maturing, his brain wasn't. The only thing that made him come out of his little headspace is unless he wanted to do it or if his brain started maturing like his body does.

Little was like a depression, once Taehyung in his little, he thought everything surrounding him was always a negative event, most likely when Jin suffered at their father's hand, and sometimes he thought he got a happy scene in his life that had never happened but only in his mind, but once he slipped into his little headspace, in reality, he was crying the whole day without noticing that the time had passed.

He was given some sort of medication to cure his little headspace, but he was also advised to come out of his shell and communicate with others. The medication would work unless the little headspace isn't that extreme.

See, Taehyung was slowly recovering that's why he's able to go to the University after they fully escape from their father's metal hand, unlike in the past, he was almost every day stuck in his little headspace as if he didn't want to change anymore.

“T-taetae, Hyungie is okay, see, Jinnie is fine. Don't worry about Jinnie, Hyungie is strong. No one will hurt me and you anymore.” Jin's tears fell from his eyes.

He wanted to blame himself because Taehyung had to witness his suffering living with their father. In those moments, Jin wished that he become a protective and strong brother to Taehyung, so he wouldn't experience this kind of thing right now.

“R-really? Hyungie won't get hurt anymore, right? Y-you won't get beaten because of me.” Taehyung uttered with teary eyes.

“No more........ no more pain, baby.” Jin forcefully smiled.

Taehyung suddenly hugged Jin and snuggled his face into the crook of Jin's neck.

“Sorry, Taetae is sorry, Hyungie got hurt because of me. I-I'll be obedient from now on, so Hyung will be happy. Taetae promised to Hyungie.” Taehyung muttered.

Jin can't help but sob, he thought they were able to escape their miserable past, but every time they remember something related to it, it's still hurting them. He wouldn't mind if he was the one who was suffering, but now, Taehyung was still suffering from their past.

Why can't he be a good brother to Taehyung at least once?

Why does he keep failing to do that?

He just wished to give Taehyung a good life because that's something that Taehyung didn't experience. Was it too much to ask for something like that?

Later that, Taehyung fell asleep and they went back to their house. Jungkook still followed them with plenty of questions in his mind.

“Thank you for looking out for Taehyung.” Jin thanked Jungkook while they were in Taehyung's room.

“It's nothing, but what just happened?” Jungkook asked Jin.

Jin sighed while looking at Taehyung before he looked at Jungkook.

“Taehyung slipped into his little headspace.” Jin told him.

“Little? Since when did Taehyung have that?” Jungkook was curious.

“Since he was 12. When he slipped into his little headspace, the age in his mind, he was still 6 years old. 6 years old Taehyung was loved and spoiled by our parents, that's why he wanted to go back to 6-year-old kid. Everything changed 2 years after, our mother died because of an accident. Our father changed, he started to become a drug addict and gambler.

I tried to stop him, but it didn't work, I was 12 years old at that time while Taehyung was 8. Father. He became aggressive and abusive even with the minor incident. His punishment for Taehyung was to lock him up in the storage room if Taehyung disobeyed him. Taehyung started to discover his fear of darkness because he sometimes got beaten up by our father even though Taehyung was begging for his forgiveness, but our father didn't even listen.

Why?

It was because he was busy sexually abusing me while Taehyung was locked up in the storage room. He did that because he said I looked like my mom.”

Jin looked at him with teary eyes and smiled painfully.

“Hyung, you don't have to tell me everything if it's hard for you. I understand.” Jungkook can see the pain in his eyes.

“I became silent that time because he always threatened me that he would do it to Taehyung if I tell someone. Taehyung was 8, and I didn't want him to experience what I went through at that time. He was so young, but his father didn't even care.

Everything became too much for me because it kept happening for 2 months, so I decided to escape and will take Taehyung with me once I find someone who will help me. When I told the police about that, no one believed me. It was hopeless for me, so I came to the house or more likely hell to get Taehyung with me and escape to that house. 

But Father was so mad at me because he couldn't find me. Do you know what he did?

I saw him on top of my 8-year-old brother, naked, he almost rapes Taehyung. I did, I stopped him but since I was young, he beat me up to almost it felt like I'm dying. That scene was stuck in Taehyung's mind. The scene that I hope Taehyung witnessed.

The only reason we were able to escape was because our neighbors heard Taehyung's cries and begging. The police were sent to our house and arrested our father.”

Jin cried, Jungkook went to him and hugged him. He can't believe what they went through at such a young age.
