"Yes, Sam, it got here. I chose two-day shipping."

"I know, I know, but I'm just excited! Have you opened it yet? Have you seen it?"

Caedance looked over at the padded envelope in her passenger seat. She had designed the product a week before, and it couldn't have gotten here faster. Sam was more verbal about it, but Caedance had been checking the mailbox constantly ever since she hit "finalize order."

"Not yet. I'm running late, so I just tossed it in my car."

"Caedance! Your grandparents can wait. They made you wait almost six years!"

"I know, I know. I just want to make a good impression. At least I'll have Adam by my side, right?"

She stopped at the red light, a smile forming on her lips. They had been official for almost two weeks now, and each day was with him was better than the last. While they didn't have their dynamic twenty-four-seven, Adam was often practicing his submissive duties and behaviors whenever they were together, and his devotion made her want to be the best Dom she could be.

On the other hand, she felt guilty for not telling him she was the one who bought the Casino. She had been holding off on it since she didn't want to ruin their happy honeymoon phase they were in right now. Their relationship was built on complete trust, and she needed to be honest if she wanted to practice what she preached.

"Ugh, you're so lucky!" Sam replied. "I've been to so many events, chatrooms, speed dating nights, and I can't seem to find anyone I mesh with. Maybe I'm too picky?"

"You're not picky at all! Good Daddy Doms are hard to come by. Don't you dare settle just because you're lonely."

"I know. I'm just lowkey jealous of you. And also, I apologize in advance. I think I've corrupted your cousin. We've been to Scorched Earth twice this week."

Caedance laughed. "Jessie? That's great! She needs to get out off the Rez for more than work more often. Just tell Koda to stay away from her."

"I'll try. You know how he is."

She happened to drive by the dungeon, Paradise Found. She almost kept driving, but then she noticed the sign was down, and the parking lot was filled with construction workers and forklifts.

"Hey, Sam, can I call you later?"

"Only if it's to tell me how he responds to your gift!"

Caedance smiled. "Of course I will. Love you. Take care."

She hung up then slowed down, pulling over at the curb. The club was either under renovation or they were tearing the building down. The latter wasn't much better than the former. As much as she disliked the club, she didn't want to see the building destroyed.

Then she spotted someone she knew. She almost didn't recognize him with the hard hat and tan.

"Hey, Leo!" she called.

He turned around, revealing he'd also grown a flattering mustache and a nice tan. It took a moment for him to recognize her, and when he did, he smiled.

"Well, I'll be damned! It's Caedance Marshall!"

Caedance pulled over and parked, getting out just as he jogged over to her. He pulled her into a warm hug. Leo was her first boyfriend from high school. They had broken up before graduation, and since then she hardly saw him. The breakup hadn't been nasty, so she always wished the best for him.

"How have you been?" he asked.

"I'm great! How about you?"

"Living the dream!"
