Monday. I hate it. But new school, so, I guess it's an exception.
"Hey, Intrise, get uppppppp! Breakfast in half an hour !", yelled Maya from the bath room.
"I'm up, I'm up I'm uppppppp!!!", I screeched. Rolling off the bed, I got dressed in dragged myself to the other bathroom.
"5 minutes to reach the canteen, come on, girl! ", Maya yelled, AGAIN.
"Yup, am here. Let's go. Yesterday's tour was VERY tiring.", I added.
We walk into the hall to see loads of people there already.
"Meh, breakfast first", Maya said.
We ordered some milkshakes and blue cookies with French toast.
"This is delicious!", I said, munching on the food.
"How was the food back at your old school? ?", Maya asked, curious.
"Well didn't have canteens. It was a day school.", I answer.
Just as we were finishing up, chatting, we heard someone asking, "Hey, Maya. Sup? Who's the new girl ?" .
It was the most smooth voice I've ever heard, and strangely familiar. I turned around to find a cute boy with dark brown hair and adorable spectacles who looked really familiar.
"Oh, hi Tin. This is Intrise, she's the exchange student. Intrise, this is Justin, he'll be a year above you.", Maya introduces you both.
The name, however, sticks in my mind.
"Wait, Justin, what's your last name ?", I ask.
He gives me a grin. "Degryse", he answers.
"Wait wait wait. THE Justin Degryse? Like, from the Voice Kids 2020 ??", I ask, shook.
He makes a frustrated noise.
"Ugh, the price of fame. You get recognized. EVERY.WHERE.YOU.GO. That is so annoying!", he says with a groan.
"Chill, Justin. It ain't that bad. As to answer your question, Intrise, yeah, the same. But try not mentioning as often. You can see that this gets Justin a bit, shall we say, tired ?", Maya says.
"Of course! Ermm, no offense to you, Justin.", I quickly added.
"None was taken, Intrise. So, is she going to be part of our regulars, Maya?", he asks.
"Of course, Degryse. Do you really need to ask? Look at her she is so cool", Maya says nudging you.
"Yeah, right. 'Cool'.", I say rolling my eyes.
"Well, ladies. I think it is time to get a move on to our classes. Shall we?", Justin asks with a mischievous grin.
Maya and I exchange looks and smiles and answer together.
"Why, yes. We shall, kind Sir.".
Bursting into laughter, we three headed towards our first hour classes.
And that, ladies and gentlemen, is how I met Justin Degryse.
