Chapter 2

I was broken from my train of thoughts when I heard a knock on the door. "Their home already? " I muttered to myself. It was still 10:47am. I got up and opened the door.
"Never thought the Annabeth Chase would ever be late! " The blonde friend of hers said.
"What do you mean Jason?"

"We were supposed to meet at the cafe half an hour ago!" Jason said, I know he was mad at the moment, but he was grinning.

"Did you and Thalia keep a bet about me being late or something?"

"Nope! But my cousin and Thalia did" He said as I wore my shoes.

I looked at him waiting impatiently at the door. "Oh my gods how much longer does it take to tie shoelaces?! "

"Stop whining like a kid Jason!" I laughed. He rolled his eyes and a few minutes later, we were in his- actually Thalia's car. I wore an orange hoodie, with black yoga pants and gray sneakers. Now back to Thalia, She has been my best friend since middle school. Thalia's that type of a girl that looks like she'll kick your ass and will actually kick it. She has black spiky hair and it's short. She recently got her hair dyed electric blue from the front- so her hair roots don't get destroyed. She's got her ears pierced. Always wears a silver bracelet that her mom had given  her before she- uhm passed away. She's got electric blue eyes, and wears everything black, with her signature black boots. She might sound punk but trust me, she isn't even. Her dad, Zeus, he's the owner of the world's largest airplane companies, Lighting Bolt Airways. He's a complete jerk! Thalia had tons of siblings, but all of their mothers are different. Except Jason-

Jason, her brother, Looks absolutely nothing like Thalia. He has blonde hair, electric blue eyes (the only thing that's common between their looks) and a scar on his lip. He tried to eat a stapler when he was two. Painful, but that's what kids do, put everything they see in their mouth. Even their own fists thar are huge for their small, cute little mouth. Anyway, we arrived at the cafe and saw Thalia sitting their on one of the couches, with her phone in her hand. "Where's the cousin you were talking about?" I asked Jason as he pulled up the car in the parking lot. 

"Uhm, he probably went to the bathroom." He replied "oh-okay"

We walked up to Thalia and I sat down beside her, super close to her left ear and- "BOO!"

"AhhhH! Annie! I swear to God why would you do that" she said with her hand on her heart. Everyone was giving us weird looks while Jason and I were busy laughing. I finally spoke after I could control my laughter, "do not call me-"  "Annie!" I looked up to the voice. My eyes widened. What was Percy Jackson doing here. "Hey kelp for brains, what took you so long in the bathroom?" Thalia asked. Wait- is that their cousin?!

"Can't a guy pee in peace?!" He said "just shut up!" Thalia responded back, making a face that mirrored mine.

"Hold on! Thalia, Jason- Percy's your cousin?!" I couldn't keep it any longer! I needed to know! They both nodded. "I know, I know, ever we got to know about it a few days ago! Our dad told us about his brother Poseidon and his son, Percy-" Jason completed. I raised my eyebrows, trying to digest what I heard. "I- wow". Percy sat down across from me on the couch, and he was giving giving me one of those smirks of his that made girls go wild. I mean, sure I might have had a crush on him for a few years or so, but then I started liking my soulmate, like a lot.

"Can't believe this cocky jock is you guys' cousin" I said. I looked over at Percy only to see him frown a bit. "Well, uh about that- I know I just got to know about the whole me being you guys' cousin and all. But I have a feeling I can trust y'all" He looks over at Jason and Thalia. "Actually nevermind" He looked away and took a sip of his coffee, the one he ordered a few minutes ago.

We all looked at each other. Percy could've just told us! "Okay well anyway, since you guys are the ones that have to bond, I don't see the point of me being here" I said.

"Seriously Beth, you're like our sister which means you have to bond too!" Jason said. "For once, I agree with Sparky" Thalia replied, only to get a glare from Jason.

"Why'd you hate me so much anyway?" Percy asked me. Well I don't know, ask your girlfriend! I was tempted. "How about asking your girlfriend?" I glared at him.

He went pale at the mention of girlfriend. "Uhm- me and Rachel, uh broke up this morning over some stupid fight" He said as he looked at his coffee. Annabeth just smirked. "You don't know Rachel's  true side do you?" As she said that, get smile turned to a sad one. "What do you mean?"

"Nothing, nothing at all"

It's been a while since we've been talking about random things. Like what's my obsession with yoga pants. "Okay first of all, can't a girl love comfy clothes?!" I laughed out. We all burst into laughter. Apparently Percy was a very loyal, sweet and funny guy (still annoying tho).

Thalia went to the bathroom and Jason and Percy were- actually they were bonding pretty well. Percy was telling all the things those arrogant jocks do. I got bored, didn't know what to do so I removed the pen from my hoodie's pocket. Yes, I carry a black pen everywhere.

"What types of girls are you into? Random question, xD"

I wrote that on my left wrist. What! I know the question is- kinda stupid but eh, I was curious.
I was now paying attention to what Percy was saying. "-jumped directly at the poor dog and-" He looked down at his wrist, and I saw black ink there, his soulmate might be talking to him. Me and Jason shared a look. He fetched a blue ballpoint pen from his jacket, and started writing. One thing I noticed is that he was smiling. Hm- whatever. Thalia had now come back and she sat down on the couch.

Oh seaweed brain responded-

"The one that is a smarty pants and the one I call wise girl ;) "

I blushed, deep red. And the blush is so visible through my tanned skin tone, I'm a hundred percent sure almost everyone saw it. "What's Annie blusin' about?" Thalia wiggled her eye brows.

Percy glanced at my wrist and looks back at me- "it's her soulmate" He grinned.

"OoooOooh" Jason wiggler his eye brows too. Is that a family thing to do?
Whatever it was, I was turning into a deep, red tomato. "I- no- uHm-" And a stuttering mess. I could tell them about the thing but- it's quite personal- I guess. Well whatever it is, It was nice having friends like them. Percy on the other hand, seemed very different. "Okay okay, enough jokes, I want to tell you guys something" Percy interrupted. I looked at him looking all serious, well I just learned another thing from Percy, he can get real serious. "I'm pretty sure y'all noticed the way I'm behaving right now is different than how I do at school-" We nodded. Okay... "-I want this behaviour of mine a secret, and no it's not because of reputation, it's the only way the jocks won't bully me cuz trust me, Luke Castallen, he- he did some bad stuff to me. And I don't want that to happen again" He completed.

Me and Thalia shared a look just as he said Luke Castallen. He used to be my crush. And yes we dated too, but he's not very nice, he broke my heart by dating my own cousin, Nicole Chase (completely made that character up :]). He moved away thought. Last year. I was really happy about that. At least now I won't have a lovesick puppy/player begging to get back together. .

"Okay deal-? " Asked Jason looking at me and Thalia. I nodded, just waiting for Thalia now. "I'll need a deal you'll have to return too- don't tell my dad where we are, I know you live with your dad. Just- I know what Zeus is trying to do. He's probably using you to find me and Jason and we do not want to go back to that old jerk! " She said in one breath.

Percy nodded. "Okay, deal"
