Mia woke up; she skipped dinner yesterday she told her mom that she's not in the mood to eat. She rubbed her eyes and fixed my hair; she went down and saw Kevin outside of her house with a bag behind his back.
She had missed a lot of lessons, “Mia I called your friend to help you to catch up with your lessons. He will be guiding you for today and tomorrow, I called Anjelika but she politely said that she herself also missed a lot of topics”. Mia's mom said.
Mia nodded, “I have the reviewer and test schedule in my bag. I don’t know what happened in the past days why you missed a lot of activity and lessons in school, one of it is honoris damus”.
She totally forgot that she was supposed to be up on the stage during that time to receive her award as an honor student for the first grading.
Mia looked at her mom who’s busy washing the dishes, “Don’t you want to have breakfast?” Mia asked politely and grabbed her phone from her pocket. She texted Justin, Kevin is in my house right now to teach me the past lessons that I have missed I hope you’ll understand XOXO
“It’s fine, I already ate breakfast. I will wait for you to finish your breakfast and as soon as you’re ready to study you can just call me”.
“It’s okay, you may come in” Mia said and closed the door before eating her breakfast. Mia's mom is humming a familiar melody, it sounds familiar.
She entered a spoon of cereal in her mouth and looked outside of the window as she tries to remember why she hum so familiar. Mia stared out of the window and paused for a while, She remember it! She used to sing it when Mia was little.
Mia snapped back to reality and finished her food, drank water and fixed herself in her room before going down to help her mom with the chores before they will start studying.
“Mia, it’s okay. I can handle it on my own.” Her mom said and gave her a smile, she shook her head “Mom for the past days I have been busy and I have been selfish in not helping you with the household chores”.
She sweeps the room and fixed the living room, removed the unnecessary trash and went upstairs to finish up cleaning the bedrooms.
“Where’s Siolyn?” Mia asked in a loud and clear voice, “She went to her friend’s house to do a group study. She missed a lot also and she told me that she wants to cope up with her grades immediately."
“Okay Kevin you can have all of my time” Mia said and went down to accompany him to my room “Mom can we study in my room?” She retorted.
My mom shot her a look, “I trust the both of you” she said bluntly. Mia nodded and proceeded to her room with Kevin.
She texted Justin, Justin Kevin is with me in my room we can’t use the living room because my mom is going to watch television and she needs time to relax. I hope you understand XOXO
Mia opened the door and gave him a seat, “What’s our test schedule?” She asked Kevin as he unzip his bag “On Monday will be first Chemistry, Latin and English...”
She cupped her face, hoping that she can just skip academics for a while. After what happened yesterday, it still affects her and she wants to do something for Daniel.
“Mia are you even listening?” Kevin asked me as soon as he finished telling the test schedule. I looked at him and lost my voice, I just blinked and looked down.
“Mia, what happened yesterday? I am asking you as a friend and that I want you to know that I’m doing my best for you to be happy just like I promised years ago”.
