Chapter 12: FRIEND

Mia has been busy, actually they all of the university scholars being afraid of their grades as usual. They’re like zombies for the past days not sleeping for ample hours just to complete their requirements, large eye bags can be seen below their eyes.

But what can they do? They have to achieve the motto of the school In the  Pursuit of Perfection sounds scary right? No it actually is not scary because despite of the ups and downs there are people who will always be there to build you up whenever you are down.

Mia's mind is so filled with a lot of things that she almost forgot to eat, she just hides her sadness and anxiety with her smiles. It’s great to see other people who are in the same position like her to fill their faces with smile and tears of joy after submitting their requirements.

Using her acting skills has its own bad and good effects, she's just glad that one of its good effects is that it can change the bad weather into something nice and great.

“Mia it’s already five thirty what is your plan are you going to the survival camp or not?” her sister asked her in an angry manner. Mia zipped her bag and ran downstairs “I will always be with you.” Mia said and hugged her.

It was quite awkward actually for her to hug her sister to make her calm down but it works. She smiled at her with those green eyes of hers and opened the door. Outside is still cold and dark like it’s still night time, Mia can see the moon on the sky. She pointed it up like a child wishing something, it made Siolyn look at it also.

For her, it’s funny that every time a person will look up there will be a tendency that others will look up as well after a couple of minutes even if you’re just looking up for nothing necessary.

Mia opened the door and sit beside her father as usual, it’s cold so she turned off the air con “How are you there Siolyn?” she asked suddenly. There was no response, she look back only to see her angelic smile as she sleeps “doesn’t she looks lovely because she looks like me?” her dad asked as he stirs the wheel.

Mia cracked a smile “it’s unfair why don’t I look like you or mom or anyone in our relatives?” Mia retorted and raise her feet in the car.

There was a sudden silence filling the room as she waits for an answer like No, you look like my parents or my grandparents something like that but all she hears is  the silence in the car.

Mia went down the car and hugged her dad so tightly “you’re on your own kiddo” he said to her sister and rubbed her hair. Her sister’s eyes were starting to be smeared with tears like the first time Mia went to this camp, Mia hugged her mother a while ago  like it will be her last time to see her again.

“I got your back.” Mia whispered in her sister’s ears as she helps her carry her things. Mia can see Justin running to get their belongings “I will take good care of your beautiful daughter sir.” He said and shake the hand of her father.

“I’m counting on you buddy.” He said and smiled at Justin, he really is a gift for her and she just dropped her voice while she is  lost again in his sweetness and kindness and it lingers on her now.

You can study and researched about such reasons on love, break everything down into chemicals but their love can’t never be explain. Because he himself is a genius and when she asked him why he fell in love with a girl like her he just kissed me and said “because I never knew that such lovely young lady has done so much challenges in her life and I just want to let her know that someone is ready to fill the empty spaces in her heart”.

Mia blinked and nearly stumble down because of the heavy bag that she is  carrying right now. Justin carried her bag “how about your belongings?” Mia hesitated. “All settled down.” Someone replied.

Why does Daniel have to spoil their moment? Mia  looked away and pursed her lip they look at each other like they’re communicating. Justin’s eyes turned darker as he looks at his brother, Daniel just cracked a smile and surrendered both of his hands.

“I’ll place your things already in the girl’s section bus.” Justin said as he makes sure that his brother won’t have a chance to touch or make eye contact with her.

“Can you please relax?” Mia said in a soft tone trying to convince him that it’s alright to be with Daniel as well because her heart is already locked up with him inside.

Mia look at him wanting him to read her mind and how she feels every time he comes around. How much he had changed her life and it feels like home every time he wraps his arms around  her  shoulder, how much clearer she see things now that she has him in her life.

She wants to cup his face right now and kiss him, she knows that she should hold this feeling deep inside of her for more than a day. He placed her bag on top where the other belongings are placed.

None of her classmates stt beside her as usual the typical loner type, Justin look at her with a very long sad glance at her. He don’t want to leave but it’s already time for the bus to go, Daniel smiled at both of them and pulled his brother.

He raised his younger brother’s hand and waved at her with those saddest eyes of his. Mia remove her phone and earphone from her pocket to make things feel better.

Mia was like this before, living and trying to hide the smile deep inside her. It kills her actually to see other girls having their friends around them, Euiwhanne is her classmate but she’s with her other friends and to be honest it hurts a lot.

Can you believe that she was the first old student to reach out her arms to her and this is what she gets in return? Mia knows that she should not ask anything in return but this one as a reward, "you have to be kidding me and during pair works or group mates it’s been months since the last time that I had worked with her!" Mia said inside of her mind.

She smiled at her in a casual way, she just blinked and looked away. She can’t fake another smile again and she feels so incomplete right now, how she wish Anjelika is here or Dee keeping  her in company.

You okay there? She texted, Mia feels furious right now she’s so damn smart and she don’t know what Mia feels right now? How insensitive! Mia just pressed the resume button in her phone and ignored it.

Her  eyes are smeared with tears as she listens to the song Angel by Sarah McLachlan and she can relate to this song. All she wants is for Euiwhanne to comfort her after what she has been through and she has been crying honestly when Justin is far away in Bulgaria because of the beautiful past that she misses, the time that she used to spend with Euiwhanne.

She opened a junk food and passed it to her, Mia rejected it and kept quiet “someone is emotional today” she joked. She became angry at her “do you think I deserve this? All the time you’ve been with Nicole and her friend, when I needed you during group works or pair work what have you done? You abandoned me! And you just need me in time of ...what studies? The hell you’re so damn smart not to know how I feel, now I am telling you all that I feel inside do you think that I do deserve to feel this agony deep inside me while in fact I am the first old student to reach out my arms and made sure that you are alright that you feel home?” Mia said as she stands up at the bus. The manang touched her hand giving her the cue to sit down and relax, Mia looked at her with the pair of scariest eyes and blinked.

“Ading it will be alright.” She said and rubbed her shoulder  “you can cry on my shoulder if you want to” she added. Mia cried so hard and let her emotions out “do you want me to call your boyfriend?” she whispered to me.

Mia shook her head, she doesn’t want his first camp to be spoiled because of her. She just needs someone to be there for her, she misses her angel how she wish that she’s here right now with Mia. She would certainly hug Mia and talk to Euiwhanne and that would totally made her day, she doesn’t want to talk to her right now and she just wants to avoid her after she abandoned Mia.
