Can we be the East Coast?
A place to start and end.
Can we be an apartment loft?
A place to hold our friends.
It wouldn't be too difficult.
Think of all the time we'll spend.
And if it's not quite right for you,
Best wishes I will send.Thick skin is commonplace here,
Here with the Atlantic.
We have the South, we have New York.
We demand to be at war.
So close but miles and miles apart.
Could I even make it work
If you were here right next to me,
Or would you break my heart? We don't have to fight,
But I want to make this right.
I still dream about that light
That shines so brightly in my nights. If you'll have me,
Give it a go.
If you'll come back,
Back to the shore.
If you'd just ask,
I'd give you all
All that you want.
I'd give you all I have.
Because you are my East Coast.
