We finished our food rapidly and made our way to the motel, this time we weren't as confused and I could recognize the path we were taking, so it didn't take as long as when we came to look for Renjun.
"This way" I pointed at the street that would guide us to the motel, taking a shortcut, as it was early in the afternoon and I knew we would be in the motel in less than an hour, thing that made me happy.
"I know you don't want to talk about it, but I know you felt something back in the bakery" stated Renjun in a low voice, so Haechan wouldn't hear us.
"Why are you saying that?"
"Because I felt it too" his words made me stop my track, as I meditated what he just said in my head.
I started walking again, as I could feel Haechan's glare onto me, and to be less suspicious, I pretended I wasn't bothered.
"How?" I asked him, he rose his shoulders, letting me know that he had no idea why he felt what I felt on the bakery "we will talk about it later then, I don't think is safe to talk about those things here."
He nodded and we sped up our pace to be right beside Haechan, who before was in front of us.
[...]
Not long after, I could see the motel sign and the area that the rooms were, I sighed thankful that in this trip nothing happened.
I knocked on the door and it took some time for it to open, and when I did, it wasn't Mark who had opened it, it was the guy from the reception, who was looking at us with a worried face.
Haechan and I immediately got in front of Renjun as we were getting ready to attack.
"Guys" we heard Mark's voice coming from inside the room, and seconds later, he appeared right beside the man "I think we have a problem."
I placed my sword back on the pouch, and as I did, it surprised me, as I don't really remember grabbing it, probably it was an act of reflex.
All three of us entered the room and observed each other, I was glad to see Mark again, and I could tell his ankle was not bothering him anymore, I knew it would be cured rapidly with the nectar and ambrosia that he ingested, but it was important for him to rest, he isn't made of steel after all.
"What's going on?" I asked as I leaned on a wall, waiting for them to explain what was happening.
"I received a small note from Chiron, an eagle brought it" Mark stated as he approached and gave it to me.
It made me think if it was the silhouette of the eagle I saw passing through last night, I had no idea if it was true, so I decided to keep it to myself.
"Why didn't he just contact us another way" I could tell Haechan was being careful about not speaking of any magical or mythical thing, and I appreciated it, as there was a stranger present.
"He did call me with an Iris message, but it only lasted seconds as he noticed that I was alone and he stated he needed to speak to us all" I opened my eyes as not only we were here talking about Chiron and mythical things, but in front of a normal person, who should not know about this kinds of things, also Renjun, who was not introduced properly to this world yet.
I still wandered why the receptionist was here in the first place.
"And the reason he is here is...?"
"Just read the letter" I nodded at Marks words and opened the letter as I read it out loud for everyone to hear, as I figured the man was involved somehow.
"Dear Venelia, Haechan and Mark" I started reading "there are some things I need to discuss with you that are of great importance, but before doing so I need you to find Mr. Qian, he is the father of a demigod who has been followed by some strange people as he describes, probably harpies or furies, he just contacted us so we could help him with his son, bringing him to the camp. When you get the letter please contact me, is it of considerable urgency."
I looked over the man, who looked like he was nervous, so much that he was almost ripping his nails with his teeth as anxiety was getting the worse out of him.
"Mr. Qian?" I went his way as I spoke "do you have any idea where your son could be?"
"No miss, I haven't seen him since last night and he always comes by to help me out, he is a good boy and he has never been outside this long without contacting me" his gaze was lost as he spoke, but his eyes met mine when he had finished.
"Alright, we should contact Chiron then" commented Haechan and I nodded.
I could see Renjun, who was almost having a mental breakdown trying to understand what was going on, as all this information was just too much for him, I was not expecting this was going to be the way he will figure out about our world.
"Renjun, breathe, I need you to calm down" I got close to him and took a grip on his hand "trust me, alright? I won't let anything wrong happen to you."
He nodded as he tried to calm down and make his breathing pattern steady.
"You need to explain."
I laughed.
"Without a doubt, but before, I have to contact someone" I explained "and when I do that I will have to do something very odd, but please don't get scared" I looked his way, Renjun muttered a small yes, as I looked over to Mr. Qian, who was nodding, neither of them understood what I was talking about.
Taking some steps back, I started focusing again, making the same process I had done when I tried to contact Mark, and then seconds after throwing the Drachmas, I could devise the faded shadow of Chiron until it was completely clear.
"Incredible" muttered Mr. Qian as he saw what I did.
"Chiron" I called the centaur, ignoring the mans surprised expressions.
"Venelia, I can see you guys found Mr. Qian" he walked closer to the shadow message, as he looked over to the man.
"More like he found us" Mark commented with a smirk.
"Anyway, heroes, I have a small quest for you, I need you to find the son of Mr. Qian and bring him safely to the camp, as this is the place he truly belongs" he looked at the man who was beside us "your son will be alright, leave it to us, these are very competent demigods and will help you out" I noticed Mr. Qian getting more relaxed as he noticed we will take care of the situation "I also notice you have already found your friend" Renjun looked at him, and Chiron smiled reassuringly at him, but Renjun seemed a little distant "there is still some time, how many hours do you have left?"
I rose my hand and looked over to the watch.
"35 hours" I stared at him, and I could see his slight concern, he knew we didn't have much time, and we have endless possibilities of something going wrong during our new quest.
"There's still some time, and I am almost sure he isn't in great danger considering the parent he has" Chiron told us as he looked at the man, he scratched his neck and nodded.
"Who is his mom?" I looked over to the man when Haechan asked.
"Tyche, goddess of luck.
