Chapter 30

We haven't had any luck yet, so Renjun and I made our way to the motel again, where we could hopefully find the others with the son of Mr. Qian.

Mr. Qian was not in the reception when we made it to the motel, there was a lady who looked about his age, I imagine it is his wife, we saluted her and showed her the key, she nodded and smiled at us, as she pointed the way where our room was.

I assumed Mr. Qian was tired, as he was also looking for his son everywhere, so maybe he was in his place resting, can't blame him, it really must be hard.

I heard some commotion outside our room, it was getting a little dark and the sunset was visible in the horizon, and it was illuminating our surroundings with the orange colors that are present in the dusk, giving the vibe of a weird kind of hell, beautiful but mysterious.

"What is going on?" I moved my hands to Renjun, telling him to stay there.

As I made my way to the back, I found Haechan and Mark fighting with an echidna, I imagine it was the same one we had encountered before.

I threw the room keys to Renjun, and he grabbed it successfully, then I also threw my bag, which in combat it would only delay my movements.

"Get in! I will be there in no time, don't come out under any circumstances" I mentioned him as I ran to help my friends out.

"Daughter of Hades" she hissed with a creepy smile as soon she saw me, she indeed was the same one we had encountered the other night, I sighed tired, why do they keep grudges for so long? It was over for me now "I have been looking for you."

She turned around, sending my friends feet away from us.

"Well, I guess you found me."

I got my sword out as I got ready to attack her, Mark and Haechan were also ready to do so, as they have stood up and were in their optimal positions, prepared to ambush the creature.

"I feel your strength demigod, you are powerful, but I am wise" she opened her arms and made a loud noise, making me let go of my sword for a moment as it was deafening, then I felt the wind getting furious, and I looked up, the sky looked nice, I furrowed my brows, it made no sense.

I turned around and ducked in a fast motion as a fury almost cut my head off with its claws, there wasn't only one, there were at least four of them.

This was going to be a long one.

"You thought I was going to come alone? I have learned my lesson" she looked my way "I was waiting for you to show up.

I got worried, as I realized that they were majority, and even though I was aware that we could go up against her and have a chance, it got complicated when the furies appeared, as they could fly, and it was the biggest advantage they have on us.

"This is not going to end well" I whispered as I saw my friends being cornered by the furies, they were putting up an amazing fight, but I didn't know if it will last long.

The echidna approached me and whipped me with her tail, I stumbled, but I got a grasp on it and held it tight, she got angry as she saw what I was trying to do and grabbed me with her claws easily, as I was basically in the air.

I tried to stab her again, but she moved and let go of me, making me fall to the ground.

"I said, I am wise."

"If you say so" I got a small bit of dust in my hand and threw it at her eyes, making her scream as she tried to get the dirt off so she could see.

I stood up and ran towards my friends, who were being attacked, and as the echidna was distracted by not being able to see, I stabbed one of the fury's, making it fade out in ashes as I sent it back to the Tartarus, where it belonged.

One gone, three to go.

Mark got rid of another of them and together we started to fight the last two, but the echidna came back, and she was angrier than ever.

"Daughter of Hades!"

I ran up to her, leaving Mark and Haechan fighting with the remaining two furies, who had decided that flying a little more would have been easier as they noticed that we were strong, and not going to give up.

We were striking each other with strength as cuts were made all over each other, her anger growing as the minutes passed, and I grew tired as these last days I have been using my powers and I haven't had much rest.

She pulled me to the ground with a claw on the hand that I had my sword on, as my other hand was trying to pull her other claw off my neck, she was suffocating me, and I could even feel the blood that was rushing to my head, as I felt it hot.

"You are no rival to me" she hissed close to my face, as I could see her sharp teeth and long nasty parted tongue.

Letting go of my neck with her claw, who was replaced with her tail, she grabbed my other hand and pressed it harshly to the ground, I heard something break, I opened my eyes, as I knew it wasn't my hand.

The clock.

As the oxygen in my body was missing, I could feel my life passing in front of me, as I remembered all the things that had happened lately, my lungs were dying to get some air, and I couldn't get it for them.

"Stop! What is this?" I heard an unfamiliar voice coming towards us.

"Come here!" that was Renjun, I could tell.

She got distracted for a second and I took my opportunity to get rid of her grip and stab her in the chest, making her disappear into dust as the other furies did.

Mark and Haechan were now fighting the last fury and with a last strike, Haechan made it disappear, leaving us here, safe at least for now.

I turned to see Renjun grabbing another guy's arm, trying to stop him, but he let go of him as he realized there was no danger anymore.

I sighed, as I took a look at the clock, it was blurry, but I could tell how much time we had left.
