Chapter 12

When I woke up the next morning I looked around and realized I was in my bed. My guess was that Ace brought me in here after I fell asleep on the patio. I laid on the bed and stared at the ceiling for a while before I decided to get up. I showered and got dressed, then headed downstairs. I stopped when I heard Ace talking.

"I don't know Tweak, I mean I agree with her. She needs to go back to her pack and get things organized and make sure they don't tear themselves apart," Ace sighed," but I don't like the idea of her being out there when we don't know who's working for her grandfather and who isn't! I don't want to let her go knowing that I can't protect her from everyone that we run into!"

"I know Ace," I heard the same male voice that I heard on the phone that day," but she is in line to be alpha. If she doesn't go back soon, she will have no chance at all to reclaim that title! She has to go back now so she can take her place as alpha! Being a girl, she is going to have a hard-enough time as it is because unless her father actually stated that she was to be alpha after he died, the pack will fight her on it and cast her out for two reasons. One, because she's mates with what they see as a blood sucking leech and two.... Because she's different! Even if they do accept her as alpha, when they find out how powerful she is and the fact that she's not a full-blooded wolf they will turn on her Ace! You have to understand the fact that she will always have issues, that she will always be considered an outsider. She needs your support now more than ever Ace. Just think about that!" I heard footsteps, then a door closing. I frowned. He's right! My pack will never accept me! What am I thinking going back there!?

"I know you're there little pup," I heard Ace say making me jump and I frowned as he laughed," I can hear you and I can smell you love." I rolled my eyes and finished walking down the stairs and into the kitchen.

"Damn vampires!" I mumbled walking over to the fridge. Ace busted out laughing and I scowled at him.

"What are you laughing at?" I mumbled as I poured a glass of orange juice.

"You're adorable!" Ace rolled his eyes as he set breakfast on the table," now sit and eat. You have a long day ahead of you!" I sat down looking at him curiously.

"I know you heard the conversation I had with Tweak," Ace said as he sat down," .... I agree with you. We need to go and get things organized with your pack. You're right! If we had them and my clan, we stand a fighting chance against your grandfather! So, eat up. After breakfast we are packing our things and we're taking you home!"

We finally pulled up to the pack house. Ace put the car in park and shut it off. We sat there for I don't know how long before Ace broke the silence.

"I know you're scared and nervous Clara!" Ace said," but I will be right here beside you the entire time love! I promise!" I nodded and took a deep breath as I got out of the car. Ace walked over to me, took my hand, and we walked into the house hand in hand. The minute Ace and I walked in everyone instantly stopped talking and looked straight at us. I could see the hatred in their eyes when they looked at Ace. I ignored them and pushed our way through to the counsel room. When I walked in all the Alphas from joining packs were sitting around the table. Their eyes flared with hatred and disgust when they saw Ace and disappointment when they looked at me. I looked nervously at Ace. He smiled and nodded. I took a deep breath and took a step forward.

"First of all, I want to thank you all for meeting me hear and for taking time out of your day to listen to what I have to say," I said with a bow, then stood up straight ignoring the way my stomach was turning," I came to inform you all that the alpha of this pack.... My father.... Is dead." There was instant chatter among them as they looked at each other, then back to me, then back to each other.
