His Little Luna

Chapter 14

I opened my eyes and saw little rays of sunshine coming through the curtains. I sighed and rolled over facing the other way. I guess I don't know why I expected Ace to come join in the middle night. He says he doesn't hate me, but it feels like he does. I grabbed my phone and punched in Anita's number hoping she would pick up. I frowned when I got her voicemail.

"Hey Anita," I said after it beeped," it's Clara. I was just calling because I could really use a friend right now. You're probably busy with Hallie and Jake, so just give me a call whenever you can." I hung up and put the phone down on the nightstand. I laid there in bed for I don't even know how long before I got up. I took my time in the shower trying to avoid running into Ace for as long as possible. I finally decided it was time to get out. I shut the water off and got out. After getting dressed, I left the room and walked down the hall. I had just rounded the corner when I saw a girl coming out of Ace's room. I hid behind the corner and peeked just enough to see them.

"You know last night meant nothing right?" I heard Ace's voice say coldly.

"Yeah, I know," the girl said shrugging," you can call me anytime you need or want some fun." She pecked his cheek, then walked away. I saw a grin on Ace's face before he turned and went back into his room. I sank to the floor feeling like my heart had been ripped out of my chest. That was not the man I fell in love with. What have I done? I sat there for what felt like forever when I heard someone.

"Are you going to sit there all day?" I jumped. I looked up and saw Ace leaning against the corner with his arms crossed.

"Oh, I uh," I didn't know what to say, then, without thinking, blurted out," who was that girl?" When I realized what I had said, I backed away.

"No one special," Ace shrugged," what's it matter?" That pissed me off.

"What's it matter!?" I growled," we're still fucking married Ace!"

"And you made it pretty clear that you didn't want anything to do with me or this marriage the day you left Clara!" Ace hissed standing straight," don't get any ideas in your head about me bringing you back here! You're my mate and we can't change that, but I brought you back here because I can not let your grandfather get his hands on you! That's it!" Just like that he walked away. What have done!? I lost him. I ran back to the guest room and locked the door before laying on the bed and crying myself to sleep. When I woke up I heard voices outside the door.

"Ace, did you really have to be that cruel to her?" I heard Kyle say.

"Yes Kyle I did!" I heard Ace hiss," you have no idea what it feels like to hate your own mate! I've been researching and the only way to stop this is by breaking the mating bond, and the only way I can do that is to push her away and make her hate me! I can't live like this anymore Kyle! As soon as the bond is broken she is no longer any concern of mine." Hearing those words come out of his mouth broke my heart. I knew he hated me. My phone rang.

"Hello?" I answered as tears spilled from my eyes.

"Clara?" I heard Anita's worried voice ask," what's wrong?"

"I lost him Anita!" Was all I could say.

"What do you mean hon?" She asked sounding confused. I told her everything that had happened since we got back to the compound.

"He's hurt Clara!" Anita said softly," just show him how much you love him and remind him why he married you. I have to pick up the kids from school, but we'll talk later sweetie."

"Okay bye," I said as she hung up. What was I supposed to do now? There was a knock on the door, and I sighed. I walked over to the door and unlocked it.
